SAFLINK Receives Contract for Physical Access System at the Environmental Protection Agency

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 2004--SAFLINK® Corporation (Nasdaq:SFLK - News), a leading developer, marketer, and integrator of biometric security solutions, announced today that its has been awarded a contract by Information Systems Support (ISS) for the installation and integration of a physical access control system located at Region 6 of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Dallas, TX.
The state of the art access control system will be designed to integrate a variety of different technologies including iris recognition in order to provide a secure atmosphere for EPA employees and to help the EPA comply with certain Homeland Security initiatives.

In 2003, ISS was awarded a task order by the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Technology Services (FTS) under the Application Support For Widely-Diverse End User Requirements (ANSWER) Government wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). SAFLINK is a subcontractor to ISS for this project, and will provide security software, consulting services, and iris recognition cameras. The value of SAFLINK's portion of the contract is approximately $350,000.

The EPA initiated this project in order to help increase the Agency's level of physical access control in response to security requirements established by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The EPA has indicated that once the new system is deployed, its use will be further evaluated for possible expansion into other areas.
