DANR News

Dana Resources Acquires the Property Las Horquetas

LAS VEGAS, Mar 24, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Dana Resources (OTCBB: DANR) is a US-based precious and base metals exploration company with advanced stage gold properties in Peru. Dana Resources is pleased to announced today they have acquired 100% interest in the claim herein known as the Turmalina Project, in Peru.
Turmalina is a copper project located in Northern Peru and is accessible by road with existing infrastructure in the area for power, water and labour. The Turmalina project has mineralization over an area of 2.5 km by 1.25km and covers over 1450 acres. As of 2007, the Turmalina project has historical reserves of 305,586 tons of 2.5% copper. Dana Resources believes that there is a potential for over 330,000 tons of copper at Turmalina.

The Turmalina project is in the same trend as Anglo American's (Nasdaq:AAUK; LSE:AAL) Michiquillay copper porphyry deposit. Michiquillay hosts reserves of 544 million tonnes with 0.69% Cu, 0.1-0.5 g/t Au and 2-4 g/t Ag at a cut-off of 0.4% copper equivalent. Turmalina is also in the same trend as Buenevenutra's (NYSE: BVN) Mina Conga (6 million oz gold) and Monterrico Metals plc's (LSE: MNA) Rio Blanco porhyry copper project with a resource of 1,257 million tonnes at 0.57% copper and 228 ppm molybdenum.

The Turmanlina project is also in close proximity to Newmont's (NYSE:NEM) Yanacocha gold mine. The Yanacocha operation, with three active open pits, is the largest gold producer in South America.

Mr. Len De Melt states, "The addition of the Turmalina project has added depth and diversity to Dana Resources' portfolio and increased our land holdings in Peru."

With some of the richest mineral reserves in the world, Peru is one of the highest producing countries of precious & base metals in Latin America. Previously inaccessible regions are now becoming available through modern technology and equipment, making the high diversity of marketable minerals an extremely attractive prospect. Peru holds about 16 percent of the world's known mineral reserves.

About Dana Resources

Dana Resources is a precious and base metals exploration company with offices in the United States and Peru. Dana's management team possesses local knowledge, extensive international connections, a wealth of experience and technical expertise in mining, mining finance, exploration and production. Ok, so listen, I'm pissed that I missed the move in Cell therapeutics. I've always loved the company and haven’t monitored it for over a year. But when I see a share Outstanding count of 18 million, and a day traded volume of over 104 million it makes me laugh. It only means that the last 10k that they filed increasing the A/S count came to fruition. Be skeptical. This baby is going to plummet!!!! Profits are good, losses are bad.

hence why i put my -.0001 cents worth od DD in there brother vester. My learnings from pinkyland are grooved into me pretty well. I will say that I did not run the list of names (from the form S-3's) through my DD machine, and my play was short. So if it turns out that everything is on the level and this goes to the moon.... well, great for the other guy. I believe there is a conference call that they just did available also.

i dunno where you get the 18 million figger...

market cap 221 million tells me that there's over 300 million shares and so does the 10K:

As of June 30, 2008, the aggregate market value of the registrant’s common equity held by non-affiliates was $65,872,000. Shares of common stock held by each executive officer and director and by each person known to the Company who beneficially owns more than 5% of the outstanding Common Stock have been excluded in that such persons may under certain circumstances be deemed to be affiliates. This determination of executive officer or affiliate status is not necessarily a conclusive determination for other purposes.

The number of outstanding shares of the registrant’s common stock as of March 9, 2009 was 321,839,696.

as tot eh dilution? i'd say it's inevitable as with all biotech firms research is EXPENSIVE...

don't lose track of this one. unusual volumes or insider buys will tell you whether they hit the motherlode or not...

SCHEDULE 14A To Our Shareholders:

According to your broker’s most recent records, your broker has not received your proxy in connection with the Special Meeting of Shareholders to be held on March 24, 2009. Because of the high thresholds required to pass some proposals, we have determined the need to send this reminder notice out to all holders that are still unvoted and urge you to vote your proxy immediately.

We also want to take this opportunity to emphasize the importance of voting on the proposals for this upcoming Special Meeting of Shareholders. The Company has the potential for two new product approvals targeting cancer in 2009. It is critical as we now begin the process for submitting a rolling New Drug Application for pixantrone, and the potential approval of OPAXIO by mid-2009, that we have the ability to access the capital markets to fund the necessary pre-commercialization activities for these two product candidates.

Thanks,

This may sound like a "tough titty" answer, but the bottom line is you should have asked every question you can think of BEFORE getting in the position where you have to ask this question.

No one here worth their weight in feathers is going to tell you when to buy or when to sell.

The deal is, *you* need to know your own exit point *before* you buy. This ain't like shopping at Home Depot--if you don't like it, just return it...

Now, that being said, I will repeat this: always PROTECT CAPITAL.

Hope you're trading with capital, not money.

If you're trading with money, get out now; then keep learning and asking questions then later come back with capital.

best wishes,

tex

Thanks R1. I banked about 160% - commissions. Watching you guys over the years I had to get one right sooner or later. Put some of those proceeds on EEE for the bounce yesterday before lunch so we'll see how that works out.
Welcome back! I wish I had more time to get back on the swing thread but still working. Cheers!

Thanks,

So I won't ask where you were that persuaded you to buy a volatile stock that had already reached a major peak. I hope that you can recover and use this as a learning experience. Someone had to sell to let you buy right? When I get some more time maybe i can explain why I bought at .25 after it was just .08 and I missed the first run to .29. Now that woulda been sweet. This was strictly a technical play as these "day runners" are. Get in /get out move on. What to do now is what should have been done before getting in. Including having a stop loss plan the moment you realize it's not working out. I hope - with the experience that is on this board we can help you to learn what you should do, next time. I'm not a fortune teller so I can't say what CTIC will do next week but if I get a chance I may put on a chart showing some of the support/ resistance lines. Here is a site I sometimes use http://www.stockta.com/cgi-bin/analysis.pl?symb=CTIC&num1=5&cobrand=&mode=stock which shows some of those lines.

CTX already ran pre-market might try and chase in on a dip-here is the news:

BOSTON (MarketWatch) -- Pulte Homes Inc. on Wednesday said it is buying Centex Corp. in an all-stock transaction that will create the largest U.S. home builder as the beleaguered industry tries to ride out the housing slump.

The companies have agreed to merge in a $3.1 billion deal, including $1.8 billion of debt. Centex (CTX) shareholders will receive 0.975 share of Pulte (PHM) common stock for each Centex share they own. The deal has a value of $10.50 per Centex share, based on the $10.77 closing price of Pulte shares on Tuesday.

Centex shares surged 30% in premarket trading Wednesday after the deal was announced, while Pulte traded to the downside. The companies have scheduled a conference call for Wednesday morning.

"Combining these two industry leaders with proud legacies into one company puts us in an excellent position to navigate through the current housing downturn, poised to accelerate our return to profitability," said Pulte President and Chief Executive Officer Richard Dugas, in a press release.

"Centex's significant presence in the entry-level and move-up categories is complemented by Pulte's strength in both the move-up and active adult segments," he said.

The firms envision $350 million a year in savings, including $250 million from overhead and $100 million in debt expenses.

The combined firm will be based in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., but will maintain a significant presence in Dallas, which is where Centex is now based.

Pulte shareholders will own about 68% of the combined company, and Centex shareholders will own about 32%.

"Pulte and Centex's merger strikes us as a good way to better leverage expenses during a falling revenue environment, although the premium Centex's shareholders are receiving seems small given the persistent valuation gap Centex has had with its peers," wrote Deutsche Bank analyst Nishu Sood in a research note Wednesday morning.

He said the main effects of the deal will be cost savings and the acceleration of debt repayment.

'Unrivaled firepower'

Dugas will be chairman and chief executive of the combined firm. Centex Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Timothy Eller will be vice chairman.

"The combination will also allow us to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the addition of Centex's land positions to Pulte's, including Centex's sizable holdings in both Texas and the Carolinas, two areas that continue to exhibit strength in the face of today's difficult housing market," Dugas said.

"We believe this is the right combination at the right time in the business cycle," added Centex's Eller. "By acting decisively now, we're creating unrivaled firepower to capitalize on the opportunities in homebuilding that are now becoming visible on the horizon."

In calendar 2008, the two companies combined delivered more than 39,000 homes. The largest U.S. builder, D.R. Horton Inc. (DHI), delivered more than 26,000 homes in its fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2008.

Citi acted as lead financial advisor, and Banc of America Securities, Merrill Lynch and J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. acted as financial advisors to Pulte.

Goldman Sachs acted as financial advisor to Centex.

Home-builder stocks have been battered during the housing correction, and the industry has seen profits evaporate on declining house prices and sales. The firms have also been saddled with billions of dollars of write-downs on land and inventory.

Builder shares have been in a steady decline along with the housing market for more than three years. The iShares Dow Jones U.S. Home Construction Index Fund (ITB), an exchange-traded fund, is off about 9% so far in 2009.
