The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command Awards Integrated Test and Analysis Contract to Digital Fusion Team
Digital Fusion Wins $118.7 Million Prime Contract

Digital Fusion Solutions (PINK SHEETS: DIGF) has been awarded the Integrated Test and Analysis Contract (ITAC) by the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC).

Digital Fusion Solutions’ team members include AEgis Technologies Group Incorporated, Analytical Services Incorporated, CAS Incorporated, deciBel Research Incorporated, Millennium Engineering and Integration Company, and Maximum Technology Corporation with Alion Science and Technology Corporation and CORD C3I as preferred vendors. The directed subcontractors are Teledyne Brown Engineering Incorporated, the Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin Corporation and the Raytheon Company. The total value of the contract, which has a five-year base period and one five-year option, is $118.7 million.

Under the ITAC contract, Digital Fusion will support the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/U.S. Army Forces Strategic Command (SMDC/ARSTRAT) by leading an integration contractor team to plan, organize and coordinate operations, tests and analyses with comprehensive, widely distributed experimental weapons systems, such as Ground Based Midcourse Missile Defense hardware/element labs, early warning radars, sea-based missile defense elements, mid and lower tier missile defense elements, or representative element simulations; and/or other equipment of interest, such as communications network hardware/simulation, command and control, and/or threat systems data. The Digital Fusion Team will also support various combinations of weapons system Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) laboratories, Software-in-the-Loop (SWIL), detailed modeling and simulation (M&S) products, weapon system operations databases, threat system representations and other required assets for integrated test and analysis experiments.

“We are delighted with this win and extremely proud of all the team members. Moreover, we are honored to be given the opportunity to increase the scope of support we provide to SMDC’s critical mission,” said Frank Libutti, Chairman and CEO. “This was a very competitive procurement and Digital Fusion is very excited to be selected by the Government for such a prestigious contract. Strategically, this effort positions Digital Fusion as one of the leading companies in Huntsville for modeling and simulation support,” said Gary Ryan, President.

I have been following this stock for a bit, and recently purchased some more shares following the $118M contract. Can you or anyone explain to me why the PPS is in such downward spiral right now for no apparent reason following positive news of a 5-10yr government contract for such a small company with good fundamentals and management? I'm a little perplexed and worried. Thanks
