My dad is looking to put about $10k in a solid big board company that should appreciate in value, but is also relatively safe.

He just got into DKAM today

He is looking for quality management in another possible small cap OTCBB long term hold as well.

Up for suggestion so I can DD.

Here's some to start with....I watch about 75 big board stocks for flipping but these are the ones that look like good investments......sorry the list is so long it should keep you busy....just an FYI, since I only flip these I don't look to much into the management side of things so that would be a good thing to dd on these - all I can tell you is these go up pretty steadly throughout the year....

***Oh & I LOVE your picks lately - I'm in DKAM now & lovin' it...so any time you have a pick PM me - I would be so appreciative!!!*****

Here's the BB's to dd...(sorry so long)

AZO
CIEN (had a split in Oct),
CSCO
DIS
FRG
GOOG (if you want to pay over $400/ share),
GT
IBM
AZN
MSFT
NTRI
ORCL
RTSX
SUNW
TWX

Looks like blud has been a good pick.

My suggestion is AVCA, great PE ratio, solid company. Had a little bit of a downer recently, but i think that was more a reflection of the healthcare industry, which has been kinda crappy

Thanks Jenna...long list, but I'll take a look. I really dont like most of the bluechips there. I must be honest...I'm lookign for a 30-100% gainer for the year...probably safe small cap stocks with growth potential.

AVNX - my only long term hold. I would wait a bit on anything long term as in the very near future things should be cheaper, a correction is upon us.

Sure, fiber optics - I like the sector and the company is ok, financials not great but improving. Current uptrend started in December 05 with a big spike in the middle.

I like GMKT

South Korean online auction/retail company. South Korea is a very wired nation with a good amount of disposable income. GMarket has already beaten out Ebay there. So far (they IPO'd last June or so) they have been beating both their own and Wall Street's earnings expectiations. They are planning on entering other Asian markets like China and Japan. Success is other Asian markets is uncertain but they have a better chance than a U.S. company. Yahoo also owns a 10% stake in the company and Gmarket just appointed Yahoo's VP of Mergers and Acquisitions to their board of directors, so its pretty clear a buyout is in the works. Their PE is up there but its still quite low compared to BIDU, and they are really growing revenues quick.

May be a little too speculative for what you're looking for but its something to consider. I think it's a steal if you can get it under $22. Will definitely gain a few $$$ after next earnings report.

GNBT -- It's a Gurantee

last year it went from .80 to 5.00, a 6 bagger on news about it's Oral insulin and Bird flu Buzz.

This year it will make similar moves...with all of the foward looking events comming. It will deffinetly double or tripple...whether it stays is another story. Just buy it and sell for a good gain.

buying in the 1.50-1.60 range has been great..buy and sell at an itraday high.

Here some historical prices to see how easy this is to flip at it's low and sell at it's gap.

Here's the first run...when it realy started moving, you could have bought at EOD and sold the next day like clock work

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=GNBT&a=4&b=4&c=1999&d=0&e=6&f=2007&g=d&z=66&y=19 8

Here are the other price charts

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=GNBT&a=4&b=4&c=1999&d=0&e=6&f=2007&g=d&z=66&y=0

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=GNBT&a=4&b=4&c=1999&d=0&e=6&f=2007&g=d&z=66&y=66

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=GNBT&a=4&b=4&c=1999&d=0&e=6&f=2007&g=d&z=66&y=13 2

You might be able to get it lower before the next move above $2.00 but 1.50-1.60 has been a good place to buy.

It looks very good as it seems in the next 6 months many developments are going on. Reason I am shying away is I dont like how they can issue 150 million shares at any time. Read the last press release, this could kill shareholder value.

Yeah, I deffinently saw that...that is why it dropped a little.

But on Dec 18th Torc Investments and Research Reiterated a Buy Rating for Generex Biotechnology 12-Month Price Target of $3.00-$3.50

GNBT has a very strong balance sheet with nearly $49 million of cash and short-term investments as of October 31, 2006, providing GNBT with very sufficient working capital for the next three years if the burn rate were to remain the same. The reduction of interest expense to $257,000 versus $6.7 million for the same period a year ago is significant and should not be overlooked as it creates a huge value added for shareholders going forward.

http://biz.yahoo.com/iw/061218/0195923.html

In my opinion this should at least double at some point this year, mabey more, weather it holds or not. There are just to many good PR's to come.

You should check out this video

from 1.55 now it's 1.85 on no news...when news comes this will get a big pop over $2.00

GNBT is like clock work

Big board is just a nickname given to the NYSE...now some people just consider any stock other than OTC and PINK SHEETS.

It's kinda like "Penny stock" Some people consider OTC and Pinks sheet to be penny stocks...some people say it's a stock under $5

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/bigboard.asp

by the way...many people don't know the real deffiniton of a penny stock..

MTRX and NTAP are good long term holds.
MTRX supplies equipments to oil and gas companies and also some waste companies. NTAP ofcourse everybody knows about this company. It should break its 52 week high this week and then make a good 10% spike.
Good luck.
