AP Stratos Swings to 2Q Profit Monday November 27, 5:00 pm ET Stratos International Swings to a 2nd-Quarter Profit As Sales Jump
CHICAGO (AP) -- Telecommunications component maker Stratos International Inc. said Monday it swung to a fiscal second-quarter profit as sales jumped.
The company earned $748,000, or 5 cents per share, compared with a loss of $434,000, or 3 cents per share, last year. Revenue rose 22 percent to $23.2 million from $19 million.
Stratos makes components and subsystems used in telecommunications, video market and signal networking products.
Shares of Stratos rose 9 cents to close at $7 on the Nasdaq. The stock continued to rise after-hours, gaining 40 cents, or 5.7 percent, to $7.40 on the INET electronic exchange.
