#1 It's not September yet #2 June and July are historically VERY quiet. The first part of August is also historically very quiet. #3 September is definitely the busiest time (Again, it's not even September yet) #4 Tropical Storm Ernesto would have been a very bad hurricane if it hadn't interacted with so much land. It went over Hispanola and Cuba. If it had stayed 100 miles south, we'd be talking about a Cat 3-4 in the Gulf right now.
It's not even September (again) and I'm not saying that the U.S. will get hit by a major hurricane, but it's pretty ignorant to say that you have a LOT of confidence that it won't happen. It's actually beyond ignorant.

Ok, we'll see. I'll be sure to bring this thread back in Nov. after you pumpers try to bury it. There will be no escape. You will all be called out.

Its not misguided...its just a guess. No one can say there will or will not be a hurricane. The weather is alot like the stock market. "Past performance is not indicative of future results!"

Well tropical depression Ernesto is just south of Orlando, Fl. I've still got power, took my wife to her physical therapy appt., then we went shopping. Just raining a little....
I say there "will" be a few more. Just a matter of when and where. I was in Charley, Francis, and Jeanne and was looking forward to being a witness to a few more before moving back to tornado alley.
Life is such!

we just need to keep it about the stocks and not the people picking them..

Ernesto regained tropical storm strength quickly over the very warm water of the Atlantic Gulf Stream overnight and continues to plow northward along the Southeast coast towards the Carolinas. It is continuing to get better organized and it now has top-sustained winds of 60 mph. Further strengthening is possible over the warm waters; approaching just under hurricane strength before landfall this evening. It is also not out of the question that hurricane status will be met before landfall. Ernesto is forecast to make another landfall north of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (along the South and North Carolina border) by this evening.

If you can tell me without a doubt there will not be a hurricane hit the U.S. this year, could you also tell me who is going to win the 2008 presidential election because there are some pretty good props odds going off on the election in Vegas...Obviously, noone knows what the future holds, it's 50/50....But if by chance you do know what the future holds, Thanks in advance if you decide to share the next U.S. president with me a little early......HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
