Well...The fact that most of the world will be listening to the conference call on Friday, and the fact that the this Stem Cell issue has caused a lot of debate with world governments and religions, I think it's safe to say this could be a no brainer.

In Friday's CC, you better believe ACTC's CEO ....

is going to be discussing potential numbers. I would be shocked if he didn't use the "B" word ..... billion(s). With over 300 patents (and eventually a bidding war for the company), there's no way you pry my shares from me tomorrow, as wild as the trading may get. I hope everyone realizes that today's trades (it was obvious by the small numbers) were made from folks like you and I (daytraders), right behind our computers. The stock was traded for only 3 hours (exactly) on this news. This news (now seen by millions) will ignite thousands to call their brokers, etc. in order to get a share of the pie. I got countless PM's today from people saying, "Thanks for the tip, I sold out and made 60%." Those folks (and most of us) are used to the usual pump and dump type stocks with no real merit. This is real, world changing science and for those that earlier stated this stock won't go to $5.00, you will also be the ones that say it won't go to $10, $15, $20 and so on. This IS the #1 story in the world tonight and it's about a world changing company with a market cap of $47 million, if that high. If you don't think this will draw attention from institutions and big time investors beginning tomorrow, apparently your mind is warped from being in pennyland so long. Believe me (and it's been said a few times tonight), if the stock races to $4 or $5 a share (or higher) and you think it's time to cash in, there will be plenty of folks who will be ecstatic to buy those shares from you at those prices. At $10 a share, the market cap is $260 million. Ask yourself, how much is this technology worth ? I'd be willing to bet (if you thought in terms of longer than 10 minutes) you'd conclude a heck of alot more than $260 million.

That issue is not to be voted on until 9/15/06...so that is a few weeks from now, and that is to vote on the issue. Other interesting points from the pre-14, insider holdings, and fund holdings...(it's a cut and paste, forgive the formatting) Oh, and that person on myspace is likely trying to make a veiled attempt to get shares cheaper... What is an ECN?
Electronic Communication Networks (ECNs) are electronic marketplaces that bring buy and sell orders together and match them with each other. Today ECNs handle roughly 25% of the volume in Nasdaq stocks.

Not necessarily...you really need to have and watch L2's to really determine the way the stock is going...I have been watching L2's for a while, and I am just getting the understand what it looks like when stocks dip and/or run. Today was nuts watching this, I didn't do one bit of work for the last hour and a half of trading, just kept watching it go up...

Great segway for my last point on L2's. If you have L2's you can look at the detailed info on the MM's. Also, here is a list of most MM's, right here on AS!

Ethical Stem Cells?

A biotech company has described a method for growing stem cells without destroying embryos.

By Kate Baggot

Print E-mail Add to del.icio.us Digg this

In a process that could offer a strategy for overcoming many of the ethical concerns over the use of embryonic stem cells, researchers at Advanced Cell Technology have created a line of such cells from a single human embryonic cell. Unlike existing methods, the procedure leaves the embryo viable, raising the possibility it could be widely used to create embryonic cells without destroying embryos. The work is described in this week's Nature journal.

Robert Lanza and his team at Advanced Cell Technology (ACT), a biotech company based in Alameda, CA, adapted a technique used by in vitro fertilization (IVF) clinics to perform genetic screening. The technique enabled the ACT team to extract a single cell from an embryo and to preserve its viability. The experiments resulted in the creation of two new lines of embryonic stem cells.

Embryonic stem cells, which can develop into any type of cell in the human body -- and thus have vast research and medical potential -- are usually grown from a mass of cells harvested from the embryo; the procedure destroys the embryo. In 2001, President Bush limited federal funding, including from the National Institutes of Health, to research on a small set of embryonic stem cell lines that already existed. As a result, the number of cell lines available to researchers who receive federal funding are few and of limited robustness.

Last December, Lanza and his coworkers published results reporting on mouse embryonic stem cells grown from a single cell. The new work applies the technique to grow human embryonic stem cells, Lanza says, and should end the ethical dilemma of needing to destroy embryos to create stem cells.

"There is now no rational ethical argument against stem cell research, now that we can preserve the embryo," he says. "The existing cell lines are weak, they're old, there are too few of them, and they are difficult to maintain. What we wanted to do with this process was to ensure that there are enough lines available. This should give the entire field a boost."

Lanza says the new method for growing embryonic stem cells is consistent with current practices used in IVF clinics, which often extract a cell from an pre-implanted embryo in order to perform pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). "Normally the cell is taken in the IVF clinic and used immediately for testing," Lanza explains. "What we're saying is, let it grow overnight, there is still time to do the test and implant the embryo, and then use the rest of the biopsy for stem cell generation. It doesn't change the outcome of the test, it doesn't present any other risk to the embryo, and it ensures that there is a cell line out there that matches the child and his or her siblings."

That scenario could be limited, however, because only a small percentage of embryos used in IVF clinics actually undergo PGD. "We would certainly not recommend that IVF with PGD should become routine in order to generate a stem cell line for each individual," says Zev Rosenwaks, director of The Center for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility in New York City. "Other than that, the procedure seems like a perfectly reasonable proposition for cases when PGD is already being performed."

According to Rosenwaks, only 5 to 10 percent of all IVF subjects undergo PGD for specific genetic and chromosomal disorders. There is no evidence that children born from PGD embryos are harmed by the procedure.

Lanza's work could advance the field by removing the ethical barrier of embryo destruction. "This would be a serious and profound breakthrough for those involved in the science of stem cell research," says Laurie Zoloft, director of bioethics at Northwestern University's Center for Genetic Medicine. Those opposing stem cell work because it require the destruction of embryos "now will be able to support this research."

My take: You buy it, you sell it when you start to smile, or most of it anyway, and you either buy more on a dip or you just move on to something else.

All news gets old and all stocks dip. Don’t lose your heads, but do make your money.

I don’t wanna be here next week saying, “Please, baby, please” to some inanimate stock, waiting breathlessly for a PR. I wanna be on the cusp of the next potential three-to-ten-bagger – like we are now – or at least hunting for one. Let some ride if you’re uncomfortable with selling it all.

This is the real deal so have fun and best of luck. Tomorrow’s gonna be a great day!
But don’t dilly-dally. Make your bread. And congrats to most of you for already being in this stock.

This has got me thinking crazy, but, what if the float gets bought up entirely? Hundreds of millions of people have heard about ACTC now, it is a worldwide news story through all major international media outlets. There will be so many people throughout the WORLD that will want a piece of this medical breakthrough. With the float being for sure under 25mil, is it possible that with this much exposure, the float could get bought up? Is this truly possible in this case? I would have never thought it, but I also would not have thought that I would be in a penny stock that got international news for creating a medical milestone that could change the world...ok, maybe the float won't be bought up entirely, but what about half?

Look at SPEA for pete's sake, they have a deal with Elvis and they went nuts. LOL. And besides traders, who knew about that deal? This is a lot bigger than Elvis kids, and everyone knows...

This has got me thinking too much, yikes...

Open at 2.20-2.25, dip to 2.00, then close over 3.

I love how the folks here who did NOT buy yesterday and are watching like cheerleaders at the big game, are warning about NASDAQ halts and crap like that... hahaha.... fearmongerers. Next they'll be telling you that aliens may short this stock to reduce the price.
