correction to prior post - SOLM made (approx. 1 year ago) the local news. I asked to have the post deleted because I wrote that SOLM is making the news which makes it sound like recent news - it is not. I still think the article is informative on the case, and insofar as it helps shed light - then great. I am reattaching just in case they delete my post.

Solomon Announces International Trade Commission Decision Delay Thursday January 11, 4:56 pm ET
TARPON SPRINGS, Fla., Jan. 11, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Solomon Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB:SOLM.OB - News) announced today that it has been notified by the Administrative Law Judge at the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) that the deadline for the initial determination in Solomon's patent infringement case against Toyota Motor Corporation and some of it's affiliates has been extended. In an order issued by Judge Luckern on January 10, 2007 Judge Luckern cited the reasons for the extension as a time constraint created by the commencement of an evidentiary hearing in an other case on January 17th, a final determination in an unrelated matter issued on December 20th and the Christmas Holidays. The order noted that ``any final initial determination on violation should be filed no later than February 13, 2007.''
Solomon President Peter W. DeVecchis, Jr., said, ``While we were anticipating an initial decision in January, we are not surprised that the circumstances of the judge's schedule have created a delay. We remain confident in the strength of our case and look forward to the decision.''
As previously announced, Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. represents Solomon in its pending action against Toyota. Solomon brought suit against Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. and Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division, on September 12, 2005, claiming infringement of Solomon's U.S. Patent Number 5,067,932, primarily relating to Toyota's use of the Hybrid Synergy Drive technology in its Prius and Highlander Hybrid vehicles. On January 11, 2006, Solomon filed an additional complaint against Toyota with the ITC seeking to exclude importation of the infringing technology. The action against Toyota and its affiliates in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division, has been stayed pending resolution of the ITC action.
The ITC Administrative Law Judge is now expected to issue his initial determination on or before February 13, 2007. If Solomon is successful in its ITC action, Toyota could be prohibited from importing into the United States any vehicle that utilizes the infringing combination motor and transmission systems including the Prius and Highlander models, the Camry Hybrid, the prodigy of the best selling mid-size car in the U.S. market, and the Lexus RX400h.

SOLM is holding support after news of decision delay due to court scheduling problems. The delay is minor IMO - 2/17 vs. 1/17 and the cause is beaurocratic nonsense having nothing to do with the merits of the case. Good news for longs is that SOLM is holding support.

Bush Administration is taking a harder stance on trade violations - good news for SOLM with patent infringement against TM
U.S. Files Trade Complaint Against China Over SubsidiesBy AP | 02 Feb 2007 | 12:17 PMFont size: The Bush administration, under pressure from a Democratic-controlled Congress to do something about America's soaring trade deficit, filed a trade case Friday against China in a dispute involving government subsidies.
The complaint, filed with the World Trade Organization in Geneva, alleges that China is using government support and tax policies to bolster Chinese firms in competition against U.S. and other foreign firms.
"We are seeking to level the playing field to allow U.S. manufacturers to compete fairly with Chinese firms," U.S. Trade Representative Susan Schwab said in announcing the case.
The action will trigger a consultation during which trade negotiators will try to resolve the dispute. If that fails, a WTO hearing panel will be convened to handle the dispute.
A win by the administration would clear the way for the U.S. to impose economic sanctions against China if Beijing still refuses to change its subsidy program.
Schwab's announcement that a case was being filed came just two days after Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson faced stiff questioning before a congressional panel, where both Democrats and Republicans accusing the administration of doing too little to deal with a swelling trade deficit with China.
The case against China on subsidies is the second WTO case the administration has filed in the past year. Last March, it filed a case accusing China of using a WTO-illegal tax system to block imports of U.S. and other foreign-made auto parts into China.
Paulson told the Senate Banking Committee on Wednesday that he believed a high-level dialogue that was begun last December with top Chinese officials offered the best approach to dealing with America's trade problems with China.
The administration has been trying to get China to allow its currency to rise in value against the dollar. U.S. manufacturers contend that the Chinese currency, the yuan, is undervalued by as much as 40%, giving Chinese products a huge competitive advantage against American goods.

Form 8-K for SOLOMON TECHNOLOGIES INC 13-Feb-2007
Regulation FD Disclosure
Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure On February 13, 2007, the Administrative Law Judge who conducted the hearing in connection with Solomon Technologies, Inc.'s request to the U.S. International Trade Commission for an exclusion order against Toyota Motor Corporation and several affiliates issued a final initial determination in favor of Toyota. In the order, the Administrative Law Judge determined that the hybrid transmission drive in the Toyota Prius and Highlander vehicles did not infringe Claim 7 in Solomon's U.S. Patent No. 5,067,932 and that Solomon had not satisfied certain other legal requirements that would support an exclusion order against Toyota.

I'm wondering the same thing as you, Vinnie. Somewhere I expect a rubberband effect, even if it may be short lived. Hard to believe the value of this stock should be 70% less because of a lawsuit.
Worth keeping an eye on.
