Also there was news out today about JPHC. There are spinning off and paying a dividend as well just don't know the numbers yet. I spoke to someone at Loyola Financial who said to watch for SEC filings.

Ya'll think the same?
I'm going to try and finish out buying with 20k. I already have 10k now.
if it was posted on otcbb like advertised then it will move. I can't pull it up but the site is locking up on me, hopefully wally'll toss out the link

In order to give a dividend they MUST file with OTCBB at that moment, they will put it out on their daily list, this is the moment where it receives an ex-dividend date, without it listed by otcbb they could back date the ex-date whenever they want.
quote:Originally posted by wallymac: Sorry about that.
So are you saying that they could make the date before we got in?
nope its cool, and i don't want to sound if i'm bashing, I normally flip for free shares on these plays unless the ex-date is posted. if you guys find it let me know. its running and thats more important

Keith, I don't think they are setting the date til Feb 3rd. I'll have to double check that though. This PR, was honestly, a fluffer. IMO

IDS Updates Dividend Payment and Ex-Dividend Date
ORLANDO, FL--(MARKET WIRE)--Feb 1, 2006 -- IDS Worldwide, Inc. (Other OTC:IDWD.PK - News) today announced that IDS has determined the final valuation of the Special Dividend related to the sale of a minority interest in IDS Homeland Security Division (HLS) will be valued at $1.10. The exponential growth of the HLS Division and new technology being released this quarter for HLS Biometric Encryption technology has led to this increased valuation. IDS previously stated its plan to pay a one time dividend with a value of between $.87 and $1.01 per share.
IDS Board of Directors will meet next week on February 8, 2006 to determine the ex-dividend date and file the necessary requirements with the NASD.

I emailed investor relations at IDWD and this is the response I just recieved:

Wallace, two things will occur. First, all common stockholders will receive a special dividend valued now at $1.10. IDS Homeland Security Division (HLS) will trade separately as an OTCBB stock. IDS Worldwide, Inc. will still be the majority shareholder of HLS. Hence, for example if HLS trades at $2.00 the result will be that the book value of IDS Worldwide, Inc. (IDWD) will increase by $2.75 per share. Some investors are just beginning to recognize the effect this transaction, besides the special dividend, will have on the stock price of IDS Wordlwide, Inc. common shares.

Not trying to change the focus on IDWD because this is huge. But since we are discussing low price stocks that pay dividend. JPHC is spinning off there entertainment division and will be paying a dividend. The last PR out today said things are progressing and that this should happen in the next 30 days.

I am excited about it especially since NGRU went through like they said.
Did you sell your NGRU on the 18th? You could of and really made out like a bandit! I missed it since you had to buy on the 11th to be registered for the divy. I bought $10,000 worth on the 17th. Then called Merrial Lynch and sold for a small loss on the 18th. They said you could sell as long as you had it on the 11th and held it to the 17th and still get the divy.

Hard to predict PCola. I certainly wouldn't want to buy after a 200% up day, but truthfully the value of this should be much higher, assuming that the dividend is going to be straighforward as they say.
As long as the dividend announcement is relatively standard, a day not too far in the future (They've said it will be this quarter.), and nothing fishy otherwise, I see no reason why the PPS shouldn't be around or above 1.10 by the payment date. The question is: will we approach steadily that figure starting today, drop down and suddenly jolt to it upon the announcement of the date, or some other fluctuations that I haven't thought of?
If you trust them to give the dividend exactly as it seems on the surface, then you can't go wrong by holding from now until then. There might be a chance to play dips, etc. but I don't think I will be trying it.

That's what makes it tough to figure out. I told some of my friends at work. Some of them said "Sounds good" and got in this morning, others said "If it's really going to work how you said, why isn't it already up to $1 a share?" And didn't get in. Hard to argue with their pessimism, really, but also hard to argue with the after-the-fact results. (Although none of us made any money until we sell, which I haven't done yet, so there's still downside risk, I guess)

Was anybody able to see level 2's on this. I'm not subscribed and the free sites I use didn't have anything. However, if the MM were involved they can keep the price down because of the shares that they own. You may ask why would they do that? I guess so they could horde more shares at a lower price and cah in later.
I've been following CYKC and have seen them play games with the price on it. It gets to the point that the next ask will be .30 and then they jump in and put up a block of shares with the ask at .21 then continue to lower the bid from .20 to .19 snd .17. So they do have the ability to keep a stock in a certain area.
The easy way to take care of the risk is to sell a portion of your holdings at the nice profit level from today and hold onto the balance until things are clearer. I know if this goes as advertised it's a blockbuster but if it doesn't it could be a bank buster. I'd hedge my bet.

To me, it seemed the MM's were not really up to their usual tricks today (At least not as much as usual). I'm sure we've all seen it, that after dozens and dozens of buys, a small (sometimes a few bucks) sell at the bid with a huge spread will start panic selling and plummet the price pretty fast. Seemed to me they were upticking pretty easily and not dropping the spread too much on sells. Of course, it might have just been the heavy buying pressure.
Anyhow, I locked in some guaranteed profit today and now I'm just riding the free shares for the coming weeks. The higher, the better and less pressure that way! Good luck!!

Yep I'm in the same boat. I sold to cover my cash I forked out and am now holding for the details. I still have 14,500 that I am hoping for the divvy. If not and the stock goes back down to .15 I'm still up a grand. So either way I'm sitting and hoping.
Gl to all!!!

I shot the Investor Relations person an e-mail this morning because one of the issues people kept saying to me was "They'll probably make the dividend date sometime way in the past and you'll get screwed"
My e-mail:
Is it possible that the ex-dividend date could be sometime in the past? I've read that NASDAQ rules stipulate that a 10-day advanced notice must be given for ex-dividend dates, but if IDWD does not trade on the NASDAQ, do you have to follow that rule? (In other words, based on my understanding, if it is decided at the Feb 8th meeting that the ex-dividend date is as soon as possible, and then the earliest that the ex-dividend date could be is February 18th. Am Icorrect in this understanding, or is there a possibility that you could set the ex-dividend date retroactively?)
Their reply:
You are correct in your theory about the ten day advance notice for the ex-dividend date. Therefore, if the Board apply to NASD for the ex-dividend the Company desires the earliest that date could be would be February 18, 2006. However, as you may have noticed yesterday the stock price will most likely continue to rise toward the dividend value even before next Wednesday.
