IMPART Announces Media Contract With Detroit Metro Airport

SEATTLE, Jan 18, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- IMPART Media Group, Inc. (IMMG) an innovator in the content, creation and management of out-of- home digital advertising and information networks, announced the signing of its second major airport deal, this time with the Wayne County Airport Authority for the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. The contract calls for a deployment of an airport-wide series of patent-pending interactive terminals, called iPoints, or information points, that are connected via the company's iPoint Network(TM). This breakthrough media platform includes both passive and interactive advertising and content in a single, standalone, wireless unit. In September, IMPART signed a similar contract with the Port of Seattle.

The iPoint Network software platform is covered by patent, trademark and copyright initiatives, providing a significant barrier to entry to competitors in the digital signage and out of home advertising sectors. Patents also apply to individual components of the system designed to manage and track messaging, while enabling airports or other buyers to publish and manage their own content. The iPoint solution is unique because it combines a rich display channel that changes information based upon the date and location, with the ability to interact.
The attractive media terminal consists of a 42" LCD touch-screen, divided into three content areas. Across the top is ticker tape-style dynamic information presenting text messages, current time, outdoor temperature and other weather information. Airports can also use the text messaging as a critical communication tool for the hearing impaired.
The top section of the screen presents "programmed" digital shows that are specifically tailored to audience needs and includes both digital advertising and video. Conversely, the bottom section of the screen is interactive. Travelers can interact with the self-service, menu-driven display to view directories, airport maps to customer services such as restaurants and shopping, as well as city-based information like attractions, local maps, special offers, even weather and traffic cams. Additional features will be added dependent upon the needs of the partner, traveler and the Port as use expands. For example, work is underway on a feature that will help travelers pinpoint the location of their car in the airport parking garage.
