Upon his return from China, Mr. Donald Gee, Chairman and CEO of Smart-tek Solutions, Inc. announced, ``We had highly successful and encouraging meetings and discussions with Chinese officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology.'' He added, ``For the Chinese government, this is an area of such immediate and grave concern in their fight against the spread of the Bird Flu. The Ministry of Science and Technology has a team that is charged with monitoring the Avian Flu in China and is seeking solutions to assist in the surveillance of poultry as well as other livestock.''

Mr. Goodwin Wang, Managing Director of SES Investments (China) Ltd., who accompanied Mr. Gee to the meetings in Beijing said, ``We were advised at the meeting with the Ministry of Science and Technology, that this Ministry has the authority to issue a national mandatory directive to require the use of RFID technology by all poultry farms.''

On November 15, 2005, the Ministry of Science and Technology arranged for Mr. Gee to visit a poultry farm in the outskirts of Beijing, China to evaluate and assess the logistics of the proposed test trial. Mr. Gee stated, ``This one facility raises and processes 30 million chickens annually. The sheer number of birds, of all species in China, is simply astonishing.''

On November 17, 2005, China confirmed its first human deaths from the H5N1 avian flu virus, saying one person in Anhui province had died and another in Hunan province was suspected of having been killed by the H5N1 strain. ``We expect there will be more poultry outbreaks to come,'' said Henk Bekedam, World Health Organization's chief official in Beijing, noting that the H5N1 virus that causes bird flu flourishes in autumn and winter months.

Smart-tek Solutions, Inc.'s strategy for the possible containment of the Bird Flu virus is to leverage its expertise in the security, surveillance and monitoring sectors.

Smart-tek Solutions, Inc. technology includes but is not limited to the ability to tag, program and count the specific number of birds, with end user defined rules, utilizing RFID protocols. Data such as 1) the number of birds 2) owner information 3) location information 4) species information and 5) inspection dates can all be programmed utilizing case by case specific needs of Organizations, Governments and Agencies.

2 goals ahead in bird flu control: Health minister

www.chinaview.cn 2005-11-22 19:32:17

SHANGHAI, Nov. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- China is endeavoring to achieve two goals in the fight against highly pathogenic avian influenza, according to China's Health Minister Gao Qiang.

One of the goals is to effectively prevent bird flu from jumping to human beings, and the other is to maintain the normal order of production and living of the people, Gao said during a meeting with French Health Minister Xavier Bertrand in Shanghai on Monday.

China has reported bird flu outbreaks in about 150 villages in 20 counties so far this year. In Heishan County of Liaoning Province alone, 80 percent of the villages were hit by the deadly epidemic.

Two human bird flu cases have been confirmed. One of the patients died and the other has been discharged from hospital after recovery.

The health authority is taking various measures to prevent human beings from infection though no human-to-human infection of bird flu has been reported, the Chinese health minister said.

He said China has established special control and prevention organs at different levels to combat bird flu and launched a strict epidemic surveillance and report system, in addition to related laws.

Every highly pathogenic bird flu case will be made public once it is confirmed by experts, he said.

All localities where bird flu outbreaks were reported have adopted strict prevention measures and all persons who have contact with silk or dead poultry will have to undergo medical observation.

China has also begun a strict quarantine on the export of poultry and fowl products, Gao said. Enditem

STTK: China Reports Bird Flu Outbreak In Inner Mongolia Region

11/25/2005

BEIJING (AP)--China detected a new bird flu outbreak in the northern Inner Mongolia region, the Agricultural Ministry said Friday, bringing the total number of outbreaks for the country in recent weeks to at least 22.

The latest outbreak killed 246 birds at a farm in the city of Zalantun on Nov. 20, prompting officials to kill 16,567 birds in the area, a statement from the Agriculture Ministry said.

The report did not specify what kind of birds were affected. Tests confirmed the birds died from the deadly H5N1 virus on Friday, it said.

China, which has the world's largest number of chickens, has called bird flu a "serious epidemic." Outbreaks in poultry are still being reported almost daily.

The leadership recently made efforts to be more aggressive and open after being reticent about releasing information during its outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS.

Earlier this week, China confirmed its second human death from bird flu - a 35-year-old farmer identified only by her surname, Xu, who died Tuesday after developing a fever and pneumonia-like symptoms following contact with sick and dead poultry.

H5N1 has resulted in the deaths of at least 67 people and more than 100 million birds in Asia since 2003.

Experts have warned that the virus may mutate into a form that's easily passed between people and trigger a pandemic that could kill millions globally.

Monday November 28, 10:55 am ET

CORTE MADERA, Calif., Nov. 28, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Smart-tek Solutions, Inc. (OTC BB:STTK.OB - News) announced today the company has scheduled and plans to deploy test trials of its RFID monitoring and tracking technologies at select poultry farms in China, against the possible spread of the H5N1 Avian Influenza in January 2006.

Mr. Donald Gee, Chairman and CEO of Smart-tek Solutions, Inc., announced, ``During our meetings with Chinese officials on November 14, 2005, in China, Mr. Wu Yuan Bin, Director, China Rural Technology Development Center under the Ministry of Science and Technology, discussed a plan to immediately prepare, initiate and deploy test trials at a select poultry farm in China.'' He further added, ``Accordingly, we are currently planning the logistics and expect to initiate these test trials in January 2006.''

Mr. Goodwin Wang, Managing Director of SES Investments (China) Ltd., the exclusive licensee of Smart-tek Solutions, Inc.'s technology in China, said, ``We are currently discussing and planning with the Chinese government the scope of the test trials and interpretation of the raw data from such trials.'' He added, ``The logistics and execution of a successful test trial is extremely complex and involves the input of the Chinese government.''

Smart-tek Solutions, Inc. has been advised by Mr. Wu Yuan Bin that, upon successful test trial of Smart-tek Solutions, Inc.'s technology, his Ministry has the authority to issue a national mandatory directive to require the use of Smart-tek Solutions, Inc.'s technology by all poultry farms and bird keepers.

It is estimated that China has billions of birds, across all species. On November 15, 2005, the Ministry of Science and Technology arranged for Mr. Gee to visit and tour a poultry farm in the outskirts of Beijing, China, to evaluate and assess the logistics of the proposed test trials. Mr. Gee stated, ``There were 30 million chickens in this one farm. The sheer number of birds, of all species in China, is simply astonishing.''

On November 24, 2005, China reported that a woman farmer had died of bird flu, its second confirmed fatality from the virus that is spreading across Asia.

Smart-tek Solutions, Inc.'s strategy for the possible containment of the bird flu virus is to leverage its expertise in the security, surveillance and monitoring sectors.

Smart-tek Solutions, Inc.'s technology includes but is not limited to the ability to tag, program and count the specific number of birds, with end user defined rules, utilizing RFID protocols. Data, such as 1) the number of birds; 2) owner information; 3) location information; 4) species information; and 5) inspection dates, can all be programmed utilizing case by case specific needs of Organizations, Governments and Agencies.

In just 29 days STTK has gone from .08 ($8.5M marketcap)to .79 ($84.9M marketcap) primarily based on the possible scheduling of a possible test of RFID technology the company has never mentioned to help deter the spread of Bird Flu in China. The marketcap range is equal to many large companies you may have heard of, such as: Biosphere Medical (BSMD), DrugMax (DMAX), Magnetek (MAG) and Tandy Brands Accessories (TBAC)
