Advanced Photonix, Inc. is engaged in developing and manufacturing of custom optoelectronic solutions, serves an original equipment manufacturers market. The Company's silicon-based custom photodiode assemblies and its product families range from custom light detection assemblies, including its avalanche photodiode technology, to light emitting diode assemblies. Advanced Photonix supports the customer from the initial concept and design phase of the product, through to production and test. The Company has two manufacturing and wafer fabricating facilities in Camarillo, California, and in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. The Company's products are serves to military and aerospace, industrial and commercial, medical, automotive and communication industries in North America, Asia, Europe and Australia. During the fiscal year ended March 27, 2005, Advanced Photonix formed a subsidiary, Michigan Acquisition Sub, LLC for the purpose to merge with Picotronix, Inc., which was merged in May 2005.

All Business Wire NewsAdvanced Photonix, Inc.(R) API ("API") announced today that Picometrix LLC ("Picometrix"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of API, has received orders for its T-Ray(TM) 2000 terahertz (THz) system from four major defense and leading university application development labs around the world. The New Jersey Institute of Technology ("NJIT"), the University of Adelaide, a major U.S. defense contractor, and a major foreign national lab have each placed orders for the T-Ray(TM) 2000 terahertz systems, with the combined orders totaling slightly over $1,000,000 to be fulfilled over the next two quarters. The T-Ray(TM) 2000 is capable of both THz spectroscopy and imaging and is used for application development. It was introduced in 2001 as the world's first commercially available THz instrument. Picometrix also offers the QA1000 THz system for on-line process control applications.
