Heard yesterday that there were some 15-20 oil rigs just flat out missing. We know this will make oil prices go higher, but in the long run, how will this effect the companies who lost them?
Can't be positive. Wait till they start naming the companies.
Any thoughts?

First I'd want to KNOW if there are missing oil rigs and, if so, how many.
Heard? On the news? Some hard rock disk jockey? Some guys at the office around the water cooler? Rumor is not much value.

Hate to sound harsh in a time of crisis, but if you haven't yet, check out AMEP. They picked up a rig that made it through the storm.
Aside from the waiting list usually associated with rigs, these things are going to be even more coveted once the Katrina losses are tallied.
