[QUOTE:]first off someone who makes 1mil a year spends the same amount at the grocery store as the guy who makes 10k a year[/QUOTE:]

uh... does somebody like.. do your shopping for you or something? have you ever been in a wealthy neighborhood's market? and how about a ghetto one? my millionaire friend anne spends probably ... i don't know... 6-16 times more? at the grocery store than my poor friend kelly. take any item.. orange juice for ex. if you are poor you might go without.. or get the frozen kind that you mix with water. if you are rich you'll plunk down six bucks for a quart of fresh-squeezed with pulp.
without blinking. i'm sorry. i know PG already made this point, but i couldn't control myself. that comment was appalling.

Just throwing in my $.02

As Americans we have let this happen. We have let lawyers take complete control of our country. It is so bad now that most americans have no idea what the paperwork they sign says when they but a home or car or even when they open a checking account. We have to put warning labels on suppositories to warn people not to eat them so the company can protect itself from being sued for millions of dollars.

We have allowed a class of people who have made a fortune finding ways around the law to run our country. Honestly, how would you describe the job of an attorney who defends a rapest? He has to find a way around the law to save his client, thats his job. He cares nothing for what is right or wrong and these are the people who make up the majority of american politicans.

Social security is almost used up, the national debt is so far out of control we cant even afford to pay the interest on it and still the politicans do nothing but look for ways to make themselves more money.

I'm starting to trade because I'm scared of what America will be like in 30 years and I know I need to make money now before things really head south.

(A little bit too much doom and gloom but I really do worry about what will happen to my country in another 30 years)

Gman,
honey you *are* sensitive. been licking those wounds, eh?! ok, i take it back. (tho it's a little diff. as a passing comment than a mellow-dramatic post-script! but ok-) here: there was nothing wrong with chiming in with PG to rebut kevin's ignorant comment about everyone spending the same amount at the market. bcs repetition is the secret of learning...! pig pile on kevin!

i'm sorry i said i'm sorry.

meanwhile, i am so depressssed... why didn't i get out back when PG said to? aghhh! what are we going to do? (go fishing, i imagine...)

How come your Demo pass some of his bills? lol

gmh37

Whether a President is a Dem or Rep.. he needs both parties to agree to a bill to get it passed.. maybe not everyone in either/or party but some.. so whether some Demo's helped passed one of Bush's bill's the same can be said when Clinton was Prez and some Rep's helped pass his bills.. or any other president in our country's history... so doesnt matter whose a Prez.. Rep or Dem or whether we hate them or not.. etc.. etc..

yes, even when they have majorities there is some help required at committee levels...

but same party majorities in the house, senate and the white house are not good IMO...the make it too easy for the party to go "overboard"....Clinton had that when he passed the assualt weapon ban...

at the next election? the NRA got thumbs down on the dems... [Big Grin]

not to mention they sold more assault weapons than ever, while waiting for the bill to take effect... LOL

You make it sound like having assault weapons on the street is a good thing.. next time a kid gets shot in a drive by.. you should rethink that.. maybe you dont care because its not ur kid or because its only a kid from a urban area... but someday it might not be... just remember what comes around goes around... Rep's are in control right now but either the next election or someday the Dem's will regain control and alot of the laws Reps passed can easily get repealed or revised...

it popped on my volume scanner...
PPS took a good jump, but the news could give more...

they supposedly have a 50 million OS
i played them last summer and took some profit, but they missed a filing, and they went from OTCBB to pink...

when the "bigs" are bad? i look for these types...

i'll probably post a couple over the next few days unless the BULL comes home....

TNGO spiked on news on FRI and they are fair game for daytrading...
read CAUTION...have fun and good luck...
we'll see how they open...
WAVAP is another one but there is NO DATA AT ALL on it.... simply a chart play, and i bet it gaps huge cuz they are talking it up big...i got in that one last year too, but everybody has been yelling so loud, i don't know if it will open at a reasonable level...

TNGO didn't get as much attention due to Baxter's big run(another one with no data)....

hey, we can make a buck, but i wash my hands after [Big Grin] BE CAREFUL [Eek!]

wearing protection is safer... LOL

no i don't ahve sereer set up for charts, and if they are on pinksheets i'll go look, but that's why i didn't find them, cuz i don't go there very often... [Big Grin]

mach...

guns...i believe in responsible gun ownership with stiff penalties for violators BEFORE they commit a violent crime with them...the assault wep ban? stupid...didn't stop crime, criminals use cheap hanguns for the most part....and FULL auto guns were already restricted very effectively for years.....the ban was a cosmetic issue.....more "spin"

The reality is there is no such thing as "responsible" gun ownership..Stiff penalties BEFORE a crime is committed is unrealistic.. you have to try to prevent them from ever having the weapons in the first place.. it only takes one Assault rifle to do what happened at Columbine.. and more guns is not the solution.. assault weapons serves no purpose other then in the military which is understandable.. no one ever said that by banning Assault Weapons that it would stop crime.. that would be unrealistic.. all that is said is killings would be down and it has as far as im concerned since Clinton passed it.. murders have been at a alltime low in alot of cities that used to have high murder rates including NYC (my neck of the woods) ... criminals do not just use "cheap" weapons.. if they can afford it they try to get assault or heavy powered weapons on the black market.. and we all know they are "cheap" on the black market at times (especially if they are stolen guns).. again there is no purpose for assault weapons for ordinary citizens other then to feel like they are Rambo or Men to compensate for something they lack in themselves or between there legs... i don't think you know much about guns then....

"heavy powered" weapons? a full auto AK47 is a close range heavy powered weapon: they are not available legally without a special permit..and haven't been since long before Clinton came to office... the Clinton assault weapons ban in fact removed NO GUNS from the street....it was a dumb law....
off-topic for later if you wish..i can explain EZLY...the essence of the law was to remove bayonet mounts from rifles...no more...a few POS guns were banned from being manufactured, butthey are still legal to own..
the ban did NOTHING, except create a "run" on gun purchases

criminals use cheap guns and throw them away to avoid evidence problems...

and if you live in NYC? don't try to tell me i can't have a gun in the mid-west....

i didn't say Stiff penalties BEFORE a crime is committed

i said BEFORE they commit a violent crime
big difference...
NYC is nothing like the rest of America...thank GOD!

I don't think guns have anything to do with crime at all. In Canada per capita and per family we have more guns than the united states but the crime here is significantly lower. Then again in America there are more larger cities.

i agree Zoltan... it has a lot more to with disparities in wealth and culure.....America has many many sub-cultures...

BTW mach....i don't think anybody needs to own a real assault weapon either..that's why i pointed out the FULL AUTO issue..ask any milpers or law enforcemnet pro..they will tell you the same that i have.... the so-called assault weapon ban was a joke to weapons experts...

maybe you shouldnt be so scared, finally the dollar dropped and the euro was in charge, did those great european economies run with it? no. in the early stages you heard that the Euro would be the new dollar yada yada...

If you read a European paper now, they are all wondering when we will get on track and with worry.....

food for thought, PS. the only person i like from cleveland is bob, how you like Belichick now.

First, I never said that i lived in NYC just said it was in my neck of the woods, second ... my main tiff with gun owners in the midwest or wherever is that they think owning more guns is the solution to less crime... and im not saying you in particular think this way but i seen people say similar things... i'm curious... since your obvisouly a gun buff.. what benefits has guns brought to society other then death and destruction whether to humans or animals that are put on walls as trophies? .. what good if any has guns brought to the human experience? ... and just to make it clear.. stiff penalties is not going to prevent someone from committing a crime now or in the future... most people who use guns in a commission of a crime whether murder, robbery , rape etc.. don't think of the consequences first... but anyways let me know what your answer is...

Okay so lets say we ban guns..because people are dieing.. Well now maybe we should ban knives as well can you not kill someone with a knife? Or hey lets cancel baseball because baseball bats can be used as a deadly weapon. Where do we draw the line? Its not the guns...its the people using them... but thats just my opinion.

stiff penalties is not going to prevent someone from committing a crime now or in the future... most people who use guns in a commission of a crime whether murder, robbery , rape etc.. don't think of the consequences first...

so true...
maybe we woould be better off if just the criminals have guns....

police are not there to PREVENT crime...that would be a police state...
police are there to CATCH criminals and bring them to justice....

the fact that i may or may not have a loaded gun under my pillow makes me much less likely to be the target of burglars...this i know...i was once a repo-man--yes cars trucks boats and even Harley Davidsons [Big Grin] ....and no i never carried a gun in that work...it was illegal in my (and most) state(s)

guns are simply tools....
they are equalizers...

cryatal meth, cocaine and pot are illegal...i bet i could buy them in any town of 5000 or more in the USA...
guns would be the exact same thing.....
they are actually easy to make with a 2500$ peice of equipment( a milling machine)......and 10$ worth of steel...

if guns are outlawed? only outlaws will have them...

finally, i would like to point out Tienanmen square to you.....preventing THAT was the Founding Fathers original intent in making gun ownership a RIGHT....

and don't hand me the crap that they were spreading in the 90's about the intentions only being to form a militia....the guy who wrote those papers was proven to have provided fraudulent data-
