Looking for some thoughts on Duke Energy. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/is?s=duk. I feel they're a good stock. And with oil and energy prices rising, they're positioned for some nice profits. DUK was also recently upgraded by three research firms. Let me know what you think

I just purchased some for my roth. I gave my broker a list of 10 & he picked duk. New management, co buying back shares. New ceo gets compinsated based on stock price.... O' 4% div yeild is nice too. I bought 30 shares and I'm in for at least 5 years. glta hunt

Sorry for the delay. I bought 54 shares of DUK and Im in it for the long haul too. I wasn't aware of the ceo compensation for how well the stock price does, which I like. Thanks for the info. I'm going to reinvest those dividends right back into the stock over time. This ones a keeper

What do you think a good target is for this stock? I'm gonna be in it for the long haul, but there's nothing wrong with taking some profits somewhere down the road. Any thoughts?

I'm tradeing in the blind. I don't have a target price. When I invest in my IRA I reserch my stocks every Q to decide what to do next. "set it and forget it". This may not be the right way but with a 4% reinvested you shouldn't go wrong. I try to play it somewhat safe in my IRA account. The energy sector should be strong for the 5-10 years.IMO GLTA hunt
