"Fiber to the premises", or FTTP, is starting to become a reality..think Verizon is leading the way in it for now.

If you wanna get in a great Fiber Optic Company,, who's price doesnt even amount to its potential, check out STKR,, they have a couple patents, and recently worked a deal with Mistubishi,,, they have room to Run,,, think its around 1.18 and chart lookin good

having owned global crossing
and jdsu... (which sank from
26 bucks to 4) that may make me
the boards expert in fiber optics.

jdsu has buckets of money on hand.
and the world has been wrapped in
fiber. but there is tonage of extra
bandwidth with no one to purchase.

the bottom line for fiber is excessive
bandwith with no customers and non on the
horizion.

i am constantly on the lookout for videophone techs...they will use some of that bandwidth...and i dumped globxing on the next little spike after i heard that we would only need 10% of what they had installed in 2010

video phone systems will be able to come on-line much faster because of this.....

although I love fiber optics... and I
was crazy about them we are just a little
early on this... its probably another 20
years away but it will be great when it
gets here...a great fiber optic stock is corning they do the fiber but they diversified into flat screens and other things that keeps them making money.

i don't mention the slow steady gainers here much...but being in them is what backs up these "hot" high risk plays for me...

I have watched the fiber optics for
5 or 6 years and the only one that went
any where is corning.. I actually made a deliver to there factory and walked around.
jdsu is loaded with cash but just in the business of fiber I have noticed in the stock business we are often investing in technology to early....

AVNX may be on the move this week. American Bulls have it as a confirmed buy.

Just curious. I researched this company on Yahoo finance and noticed that the stock price has gone from $300 to $1 in 5 years...why is that?

My opinion and that is all it is: industry downturn, failed merger or aqusistion in 2002,I am really looking at this as a short-term move. The charts are pointing an up swing, the analysts according to Ameritrade have an average rating of buy, there are a few holds, but no sells. American Bull has it pointing to a confirmed buy as well.
