Oh, it's always going to try our patience. Just a few moments ago I was thinking, "what if I had temporarily closed out my position at around 2.40 and then bought it all back after the drop. Again, unfortunately my crystal ball is out of order, and I was not able to predict this drop, but I did sense that something like it was about to happen.

It's rare that something climbs and climbs and climbs. When you start getting that feeling of insecurity, well, you have to start thinking. It's at that moment that I reminded myself that I was a long term investor. Simply because of the fact that I don't want to be caught out of the stock incase some news should come across.

One thing I have noticed about this and some other penny stocks is that they typically trade down when the overall market (DOW and NAZ) do well. I have pretty much come to expect this. Now, Wellstone did pretty well the past week when the market was El Stinko. One day the market was dang awful, and Wellstone was just climbing nicely.

If I could really kick myself it is for not having acted after that runup to the 5's earlier this year. I was on the phone with a friend of mine, gleeful about the run, and like I fool I didn't sell into it. I allowed things to settle all the way back down again. Now that was dumb. :-)

For now I am in patience mode, happy to see that some PR is being issued, and waiting for Wellstone to begin operations. Who knows what's around the next corner.

Cheers

I didn't sell any at 2.40 but these last few days are testing my patience. I just gotta have faith!

Nice positive move today. It's been weakening some since the recent high, but that's typical and expected. Runs up some on news prospects and then begins to waver as individuals decide to take their profits off the table.

The thing is, with this company, one never knows. Simply because they are so young and in the stage of development when a new contract or agreement can be announced. I wouldn't chance it, and prefer to simply hold on to the stock and allow the company to do its thing. Those that chose to bail out are risking being caught out of the stock if and when something solid is announced.

The 3-for-1 split is effective tomorrow morning. Meaning, shareholders will have the shares tomorrow morning along with the adjusted price.

Cheers

Just for kicks I logged on to my Ameritrade account to check on the number of shares in there due to the 3-for-1 forward split. The extra shares are there but it hasn't been price adjusted, so I dreamed a little of the account balance as it seemingly stands... at least for tonight.

I think it's pretty much psychological for those individual that know their stock trading. Same difference. Now, for those that don't do all that much research they may find the "price" to be cheap. Also, for those individuals that want to sell off some shares and yet keep a certain number of shares, the split provides that opportunity.

If the share price starts to climb over time due to good prospects or solid agreements then the split would have been a great move. I kind of feel that management conducted the split for a few reasons:

1) As stated, to introduce liquidity into the mix so that there would be more shares available to trade
2) Because they have a feeling that the share price will be appreciating nicely in the future, and by splitting the stock at this point they can keep the "price" low, and so attract a different type of investor.
3) It keeps the stock in the penny stock area. If the share price rises greatly then investors and financeers may prompt the company to move to an exchange with some visibility (AMEX, NASDAQ, for instance).

All of this is speculation on my part, but they are my best opinions.

Cheers

Guess what brand I WILL BE SMOKING????

Wellstone Filters to Be Available by Second Quarter 2005
via COMTEX

October 6, 2004

DURHAM, N.C., Oct 6, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --

Wellstone Filters (OTC Bulletin Board: WLSF - News) announced today its timetable for retail sales of its Wellstone brand cigarettes.

Wellstone plans to have its Wellstone brand cigarettes with the patented filter on store shelves and available through internet sources (where permitted by law) by Q2 (the second quarter) of 2005. Wellstone is confident that this timetable is adequate to complete FTC product testing, receive FTC approval on packaging, comply with other regulatory issues and finalize manufacturing arrangements.

"Given a few regulatory hurdles which all cigarette manufacturers must comply with, Wellstone is confident with this time frame," stated CEO L. J. Hand.

Mr. Hand continues, "There are two things I firmly believe: first, those who smoke will buy our product for the price -- and comeback for the taste; and second, the Wellstone cigarette is the best cigarette money can buy."

Wellstone believes that its patented filter formulation removes tars and certain carcinogens, while providing better taste. However, any claim as to the benefits of any Wellstone cigarette to be sold will be made within the parameters prescribed by the Federal Trade Commission. Wellstone emphasizes that NO cigarette is safe. This corporate communication by Wellstone is not intended to induce any person to purchase future Wellstone tobacco products.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Wellstone Filters, Inc. has developed and patented filter material that removes certain carcinogens and other toxins produced when tobacco is smoked -- without removing the compounds responsible for the pleasurable effects of smoking. Wellstone seeks to promote material for cigarette filters that will enable major cigarette manufacturers to provide consumers with an equally enjoyable cigarette with substantially fewer carcinogens.

Do you think this will retrace a bit since the sale of cigarettes is at least 6 months away and investors may look to come back in later?

Good question Marva. Honestly, I think the possibility is there for a small retrace, however, you cannot discount other possible events. First off, there could be accumulation by those that feel that it's a solid long term investment. Secondly, the possibility of licensing agreements or co-production agreements anywhere in the world. Remember that a large percentage of cigarettes in the world are manufactured in Asia.

I'm going to hang on to my shares. The company is incredibly young, basically just entering the production phase. I'll be more than willing to give them the time to prove they are worth keeping. I think the product holds tremendous potential, and getting in at these prices is something that's not easy to do. Take a look at the history on TASR, and RIMM. Individuals that held them for the past 2 years are laughing all the way to the bank. I honestly feel that WLSF presents the same opportunity. One can hop off the train now and collect their prize, or stay onboard and hopefully ride the train all the way over the golden rainbow.

Cheers

This involves forward looking statements.I was wrong once, uhh yesterday, and a couple of times the day before.LOL Good Luck

(no offense)
But I for one would like to
accumulate more my self.
I don't like to put alot of eggs
in one basket, but I have one of those feelings about this one. I'm just
kicking my self for not having more funds free at the moment!
Very Important question to me any ways.
when is the Second Quarter 2005
exactly so I know how much time I have.
Thanks!

this isn't usually the type of company i invest in, usually i am much more stodgy and "old school" about the companies i pick. but - i'm in at the open this morning for a little. just can't resist the potential, even though there is a whole lot of mountain for them to climb imho.

i try not to smoke for obvious reasons and i generally don't, but - sometimes stressful days make me reach for one every now and then. no question, i'd buy the wellstone brand over any other, once they start production.

I just can't help seeing a Great potential
if they continue to do things as they have been. May be I'm just use to .0001 stocks, but this company seems to have their marbles
in a nice roll and this is just the beginning!
If this filter is as good as they claim.

this one - i just dunno. traded from .72 to $1 then foolishly sold. a true rollercoaster stock. a 30% daily loss or gain wouldnt surprise me either way. paperthin, but - huge potential (*IF* and that is a mighty big IF) if they actually can make the cards fall in their favor.

i'm in for (don't laugh) 500 shares. i can't bring myself to put in big on this one, but - i think the *potential* can't be ignored. i want at least a little teeny bit in, just to follow the story. have no idea how it will go, but honestly i have to admit that this is the only stock i can think of that has the potential to be a 50-bagger *IF* things go well for them. for that reason, WLSF is now officially my "lottery ticket". i am going to hold long and see what happens, what the hell.

Remember that the trading price affects the type of investor that is lured to the particular issue. I wish they would have provided a better reason than "liquidity" for bringing about another split.

I'm not complaining about the split, but elevating the share price would begin to stir up the interest of entities with more money to invest. For instance, most funds pay little attention to stocks that trade below $10/share (at least that's the way it used to be).

I'm hoping that Wellstone's management has a feeling that WLSF is going to be trading much higher in the future, and are setting the stage for it by bringing the share price down, and adding more liquidity into the pool.

The ball is definitely in their court, and I'm going to go ahead and let them play their game. So far, so good.

Cheers

Hi Joker,

Well, if you want to play it a little safer and still accumulate over time, practice dollar-cost averaging on WLSF. Say you want to invest $6,000 in it. Slice it up into three $2,000 purchases over time.

Other than that it would be a timing issue. I'm still below my break-even price on one account and very nicely above my break-even in another account. I'm not planning on selling off on either account. I like the prospects wayyy too much to dump the stock at this time.

Cheers

A link to an interview with the WLSF CEO was forwarded to me via email. It can be found at:

http://www.ceocfointerviews.com/interviews/Wellstone.htm

I really like the following statements:

"... I contacted Sam and discussed our technology; he is now our new COO and CFO. He believes that we will do extremely well if we do a proper job of marketing and distribution..."

"... in double blind taste tests-- the tasting panel always, without exception preferred the Wellstone Filtered cigarette..."

What an excellent interview. Yes, I realize that the company paid for this interview/advertising, but that's the way it has to be when a company is very small. It sounds like they are doing everything very very well. I'm definitely excited about the prospects. Current shareholders are going to be glad they bought and held on for the long run.

All current and prospective shareholders should read the interview. It's well worth it.

Cheers

I don't think that one should be "playing" this stock. I really liked the answers provided by the CEO. They seem to be right on target. The potential for this company is explosive. Buy and hold. Forget about the intraday price movements, those are games being played. Really now, who is going to be trading around 100 or 500 shares at a time, for a 0.70/share stock? Those are marketmakers just trying to make a few bucks off of each other.

Cheers

mr_geronimo:
I was kind of hoping this thread would
be forgotten about for a while.
I need to pick up more shares
when I get some more cash and don't need the
price shooting through the roof yet!!!
(just kidding) You can spread the word.
But I do still need to accumulate more
before 2nd quarter of 2005!
BUT GO WELLSTONE!!!!!!!!

"Spread the word... go Wellstone!"

<laugh> Somehow I doubt that whatever we say will have any impact on the share price. Instead it is what the company does that will have the greatest impact. So far they are making all the right moves (in my opinion). Hey, the stock is cheap again at 0.70 <grin>... pay no attention to that forward split (you aren't supposed to remember that it took place). Just think "cheap" and buy buy buy... hehe.

It'll be interesting to see if the forward split has any effect on trading volumes, etc. I'm not an expert in volume analysis, but I would expect the daily volume to triple if all remains the same. If the volume begins to drop over time then I would guess that individuals are buying and holding. One things that bugs me is the trading that is not between individual shareholders. You know, basically churn, between marketmakers. That totally screws things up and makes it difficult to get a reading on activity. I suppose they enjoy that.

Oh well, looking forward to more news from Wellstone (a.k.a. Smokey). I just can't get enough of it. Hmmm, maybe they'll make me an honorary board member, hmmm. Oh, no, then I won't be able to post my opinions on here. It would be interesting though. :-)

Hey, Wellstone, if you'd be interested in having me on the board just let me know. I'm available. <grin>

Happy trading and cheers

Thats for sure about that statement. (above)
You can be the spokesman and I'll be their
official taste tester
They can ship me all the free smokes that they can
If they did, I would have a LOT MORE money
to invest in them with!!!
Would be a win win, all the way around

Wellstone Filters Secures Financing for Product Launch

DURHAM, N.C., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wellstone Filters (OTC Bulletin Board: WLSF) announced today that it has secured $1.5 million in funding for the launch of its own brand of cigarettes. The funding, which will be structured as debt, will bear interest at 4% as well as provide for warrants to purchase restricted (2 year restriction) shares of common stock. The exercise price and number of the warrants has not been finalized, but it is expected that the value of the warrants will be imputed as additional interest for financial statement purposes. Dilution is not expected to be material. Wellstone will receive the entire $1.5 million in cash in October 2004.

The $1.5 million funding is an essential step in Wellstone's preparation to enter the growing independent cigarette manufacturer industry, employing its revolutionary new filter. Wellstone believes this funding is sufficient to pay general and administrative expenses until product launch and the remaining costs to bring Wellstone's own brand of cigarettes to market by the second quarter of 2005, as previously announced.

The private lender is also willing to provide substantial additional funding upon the completion of production milestones.

This corporate communication by Wellstone is not intended to induce any person to purchase future Wellstone tobacco products
