SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Mar 31, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Motion DNA team recently demonstrated its technology at the annual national health club convention in Las Vegas. The convention featuring the latest products and services for health club owners, included dozens of demonstrations of Motion DNA's new BioTrainer by MOTD President Zig Ziegler.
"The show was an absolute success," said Charlie Baker, Motion DNA vice president of sales and marketing. "We impressed a lot of powerful people in the world of health and fitness." The company estimates that hundreds of individuals viewed individual and group demonstrations, showing the BioTrainer as a posture training and physical therapy tool.
"All of the individuals in attendance were impressed that such a technology existed," said Ziegler. "We had several sales at the convention and expect additional orders to continue to flow into our offices over the next several weeks." A one sensor BioTrainer is currently priced at $1,995. Ziegler also stated, "Most professionals have requested four to 10 sensors units, which can be used in simultaneously for full body analysis, or individually for single joint, single segment motion analysis and rehabilitation." Each sensor currently can be used as a non-data collecting tool for training or collect and store continuously up to 90 seconds of data, sampling at a rate of 180 frames per second.
To assist with sales and additional orders, answer questions, and provide demonstrations, nationwide, Motion DNA will be seeking to increase its sales team. "We grow our sales force to cover some areas where we have been receiving inquiries for product demonstrations and convert them to sales opportunities," said Baker. "We anticipated a positive response. We must now prepare to deliver our products and services."
In addition to the requests from the convention, our marketing has generated interest from colleges and universities around the country and internationally. The company has received requests from China, Saudi Arabia, and New Zealand. An international distributor is being sought to handle overseas sales.
Currently, Motion DNA has four sales and marketing representatives who conduct product demonstrations to sell its products and services. Interested individuals should forward a letter of interest to the company's corporate office. The company intends to focus on a few key areas in which large sales volumes and interest are expected. They include Florida, Texas, California, New York, Illinois, Colorado, Washington and Minnesota. The company expects to reach its sales goals of 1,000 individual units during the second quarter 2004. "Based upon the current pattern, we anticipate a need for less than 250 customers to reach our goals," said Ziegler.
Motion DNA expects to demonstrate and take orders for its technology again at the upcoming National Athletic Trainer's Association Convention in Baltimore (June 2004) and the American Physical Therapy Association convention in Chicago (June 2004).
