Well, a post of mine sparked some interest, apparently...so we're gonna start a "club" or "contest," however you wanna you call it.

The ground rules are these:

1) start with $300

2) aim for 20% return

3) BAIL at "near 20%"

4) don't look back

5) put your $360 into the next play (same stock? up to you...)

6) BAIL at 20%...

7) Do it again... (7-a) and again (7-b) etc...

8) At 6 months, we announce a winner!

9) No shysters, no "group picks," no bashers, no pumpers: only good DD.

Otherwise, we start a "group" somewhere that is members-only...

OK...remember the points are (a) to escalate a relatively small amount into a large amount and (b) to see how large a buy-in is realistic in the pennies.

(sub-note: a "big-board" stock is *NOT* out of the question as far as "picks" go...)

lol--let's play: any questions?

(remember: right now? I can *not* post during trading hours--I'm starting this with the caveat that I can post only after/before trading, for now)

Do we have to get out around 20 percent even if it looks like it will go up much more? Or if it jumps up 30 or 40 percent in the first ten or fifteen minutes for the sake of the contest should we only record 1 20 percent gain even though we had more?

What about commissions? Ameritrade is $10.99 per trade. So we'd have to aim higher than 20% to cover the $22.00 in/out and have the $360 for the next trade, right? Closer to 30%, or we'd only have $338.00 for the 2nd trade, which then again would only be $327.00 after the commiss to buy the 2nd one.

So does anyone have any good gains this week or last week?
I sat most of the week out and last week. I didnt see any good plays although im sure others did. My pick today was pudc. In at 2.25 out at 2.40 for a whoping 4.5 percent gain. so for 300 start it would be 15 dollars profit and ten for commisions and the new total would be 305.

cool, I'm glad to see this thread--thought it died on the vine...

To answer your earlier question ("Do we have to get out around 20 percent even if it looks like it will go up much more?"): My idea is that 20% is a only a goal, merely a guideline, to make a distinction between that and, say, looking for 2- and 3-baggers.

The important principle is replaying the entire amount each time in order to accelerate overall gains; ie, it's an experiment.

So for instance, let's suppose Player A starts with $300 and is fortunate enough to double. For these purposes, Player A makes next buy with $360 and moves $240 of the gain elsewhere... (obviously, I'm ignoring commissions).

Make sense?

my pick today did only about 7 percent on cyio. I chose this because of the pr that they may get a contract with dep homland sec. possibly 30mil a year for seven years. I was expecting more out of this stock today but I guess people want to wait until a contract is afficial. In at open at .8 out at .85. So my new total is 422.65 minus commisions its 412.65. Hey am I the only one who's gonna post or what. anybody else gonna post. I think this was a good idea and it could be good for learning what other traders do and how succesful they are.

Tree, I'm following...thanks for the update.

I posted a NASDAQ stock on its price-related thread, with notice that I'd post here when I had more DD.

That one is EMRG, an ag company with potential as anti-Mad Cow technology. Basically, they use technology to benefit the cattle industry, tracking herds with one product and dtecting pathogens with another...

Good luck with your play...

ImNational Auto Credit Announces Acquisition of Option Technologies Interactive LLC - Expands Interactive Audience Response Capabilities
11/21/05
NEW YORK, Nov 21, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

National Auto Credit, Inc. (OTCBB:NAKD) ("NAC") announced today its acquisition of 100% of the membership interest in Option Technologies Interactive LLC ("OTI") from Flexner Wheatley & Associates and MeetingNet Interactive, Inc. OTI is a technology company providing interactive software and hardware systems and services for use in live events, training and education satellite videoconferencing and corporate meeting services. OTI revenues for the year ended December 31, 2004 and the nine months ended September 30, 2005 were approximately $5.3 million and $4.3 million, respectively. OTI is headquartered in Orlando, FL with additional full service sales and service offices in Ogden, UT and Chicago, IL. OTI has approximately 20 employees.

The purchase price was paid in a combination of cash at closing, $744,000, the issuance of 496,250 shares of NAC common stock and the balance of the purchase price, $1.5 million, is payable through two promissory notes issued by NAC. The notes are repayable according to a formula based on future cash flows realized from OTI and bear interest at the rate of five percent per annum until repaid. The purchase price is subject to an upward and downward adjustment not to exceed $412,500 based upon OTI meeting, or failing to meet, certain minimum financial performance criterion and an upward or downward adjustment to the extent the book value of OTI at closing exceeded, or was less than, a certain agreed amount.

OTI's products and services facilitates event data management collection whereby event sponsors and/or clients can obtain, analyze and respond dynamically, in real-time, to audience preferences and attitudes or provide responses to specific queries within an event. Through robust, custom software applications and the use of radio frequency or infrared transmission and collection devices, OTI is able to provide data software, hardware and on-site services to assist in engaging corporate and other audiences in understanding and relating to the overall communication program, ensuring better information retention, providing a record of responses for regulatory and testing purposes and in many cases providing clients with live field data not otherwise easily obtained.

As a consequence of the acquisition of OTI and in combination with NAC's subsidiary Audience Response Systems, Inc. ("ARS"), NAC becomes one of the largest providers of audience response technology worldwide with more than 3,000 clients and systems placed in more than 27 countries. Each of OTI and ARS provides unique and critical solutions for the communication industry for small group gatherings and large event programs. OTI and ARS technologies and service offerings, while similar, each use innovative proprietary software and hardware to meet the needs of clients in different market segments. OTI and ARS will continue to operate as independent business units of NAC.

James McNamara, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAC, said: "We are delighted to add OTI and its team of dedicated professionals, to NAC. OTI becomes another significant component in NAC's tool chest of proprietary products and techniques which enhance the efficacy of all corporate communications efforts from presentation, through strategic content, to distribution. And, because NAC believes in tangible results, through ARS and now OTI, it can provide a sensitive measurement methodology, to allow clients to both quantify and qualify the results of their meetings and messaging."
