I think we need to elect a board ... a group of at least 3 or better yet 4 people who will look at all the DD and come up with a decision on what to buy, when to sell. If we don't do that, we will only have anarchy and arguing between ourselves. We MUST have some sort of leadership.

I am suggesting that we form groups for DD, T/A, news, SEC filings, and etc. If you want to be in a particuliar group volunteer, otherwise, I will appoint the remaining members to a group by drawing names.

Everyone has a different idea. So here is mine. It will be very confusing if each of us is making a decision on which stock the board should choose. I propose having 2 voted members of the board that will choose the stock for the board to purchase and will decide when to sell and reinvest. The rest of the members will choose from 1-3 stocks and post the dd etc. Joe: I like your suggestions as a starting point. Realize that all of us are going to invest for ourselves as we see fit. I think that the purpose here is working as a team, we go through the process of choosing a stock, demonstrating the reasons why etc, and deciding when to buy and sell. The profits/loss are spilled into the next stock and so on until the year ends and we see if in fact our choices held water.. ie: we made our 100x profit. The question is.. does the board trade on paper and it is up to each of us as to wheather we follow along and for how much etc. Or does a member elect to do the actual trade with his/her $1000 in order to more realistically replicate the problems of filling an order? I would offer to do this as I plan to anyway however, I am not able to daytrade as I am not in an office through the day. This would be a disadvantage to the board..I think that this function is better done by someone who can monitor the stock.

It is true that everybody can decide how they will invest their own money, but since this site is supposed to show if you start out with $1,000 can you bring it up to $100,000 by the end of the year, then we would have to start with the $1,000 and trade it for a year and see how we do. When I proposed this site, I thought that it would be fun to have us start with $1,000 and then buy and sell stocks, using that original $1,000 and see where we ended up at the end of the year. I thought that we could do it two ways, (1) Do it on paper, where we would use the bid/ask price as a buying and selling point. (Or if it doesn't have a bid/ask, then whatever, the stock is selling at when we decide to buy or sell it.) Also (2) I have $1,000 set aside that I was going to invest according to what we decide to buy/sell. I would think that we should start with at least 2 or 3 stocks (not too many or the commission will cut into the profits. .. Then as the amount of money accumulates we could have more than 2 or 3 stocks.) As an example, Monday buy 5,000 shares of XYZ @ .10 and 5,000 shares of ABC & DEF @ .050. Then, in possibly a few weeks when ABC has gone up to .25, possibly on a Tuesday and is starting to drop, then sell it on Wednesday (@.23?) and then we can decide what to buy next with the profits. In the mean time, each week we can be discussing stocks and we can buy some of them for our own accounts. At the end of the year, we can see how we did compaired to how our official portfolio does by the end of the year with our site's picks. As a group we can decide what to buy, but when it comes to deciding when to sell a stock, it might be better to have one person do that, and if they are not going to be available, such as being gone on vacation, then they could designate some one to take over for them while they are not available.

I can't find my posting. Basically I said that we can invest our own money according to what we read here and see how we do by the end of the year, but when I suggested this $1,000 to $100,000 site, I thought that we would officially start with $1,000 and buy and sell stocks with it and see if we could bring it up to $100,000 by the end of the year. So Monday we could come up with 2 or 3 stocks to buy and how many of each at what price, using our alloted $1,000. And then not buy anything else untill we had sold something, and use that money for buying more stocks. As a group we could decide what we want to buy, but it might be better to have someone designated for making a sell decision in case a stock goes way up at the start of the week, and then starts back down by the middle of the week, or we could just wait for the weekend to see if we wanted to sell anything, and then what to buy with the mone that the sale gives us. But either one of those might be difficult, so I'm not sure what would be best, possibly each person can decide for themselfs to buy/sell according to what they read here, and at the end of the year we can see how people did. If we do decide to have our own portfolio, we can do paper trades, starting with $1,000, but I have set aside $1,000 of my own money and I could invest it according to our decisions and then we could see how it does in real life.

Star I agree with having 2 or 3 stocks to trade but paper trading is not a good idea no where near real trading also there's no m/m trying to screw you and when we do make $100,000 I think alot of people will be kicking them selfs.

I am reading all the post one idea on selling is when you buy put a sell in at say 10x-20x cost. This will cover you in two ways. The stock can not be shorted and a holy **** effect is covered. The effect is why in the hell did the stock do that no news or pr or any thing.I personaly have a sell on every stock I own. Been lucky and sold two one day pops at or close to high by having preset sells in.Just a idea and then the board can decide on the sell point on the week ends. I also have a preset price to sell on every stock I buy when I buy it. 30% is my min. return on anything I buy.

OFFSHORE I know what you took on is very time consuming. I am sure many of us appreciate the effort. I am struggling with finding quickly what I want to see. I saw a reply that offered a "poll" very user friendly. Could "YOU" open a thread each week with a Sunday date with the picks. possibly a "poll" off listed people who could check off when position closed. possibly even a +/- box, and possibly a checkoff for each of the three picks( some may not get in that week). I was hoping ( because of my inexperience ) to get some "guidance" on exits. I will read the posts, but I trust certain people more than others. These weekly posts would eventualy scroll off board.

Stock_Student I think any where under .0050 would be a good range the market gapped from .0041 if the market does not retrace I will be buying when the 50 day MA crosses over the 200 day MA don't chase this stock and you'll be ok.

I think if our no.1 weekly pics all gap up on open the M/M's maybe watching.

OFFSHORE Depending on the # I see no problem with registering the members and do it by email. Not sure how you would qaulify, maybe BFrey would have an idea. The thrust of the previous post was to find a data that is relavant to the individual member is doing.Possibly each member could have a thread posting Date of Purchase Qty Price Date of sale Qty Price. Or a weekly date thread where all members would post same data VAN

Van, this sounds like a good idea for closed positions but I don't think it would be a good idea for people in the club to post open positions I think if we posted the positons after there closed it would be wise.

OFFSHORE OK ,closed would provide some statistics. I could create a database to handle this, but need some design help. 1-Minimum input 2-Good idea of what to report etc Maybe some other memeber/s would be intrested ??

OFFSHORE Been thinking ? Could one of us (membership administrator)get a second email address for the club, then all of the participants reregister with ALLSTOCKS(BF might suggest a format) an alias C#-100; C#-200 etc. This would give you a private communication for the 3 picks(currently your poll total is still available to board monitors) Then we could do something like this : THREAD 01/12/2004 Member Action Change Balance C#-100 Bought CESY;50k-PGHI;5k-CTKH-50k -441.98 558.01 Posting on action completed on that weeks 3 picks only, Reporting on Sat or Sun(for Buys) And SELLS any for previous picks in the club. Would be nice to create a "form" to hold above info for consistancy. VAN

OFFSHORE Yes Bob Frey He may have some good ideas on this. I assume you speak with him regularly to make this work. Specifically how to identify the club member. How would we know that a MM has not registered, but may be able to cross check with BF on this. Maybe you could put out an alert and see how many respond. VAN
