The host committee for the Democratic National Convention is raising a number of eyebrows after choosing to proceed with featuring Islamic “Jumah” prayers for two hours on the Friday of its convention, though Democrats earlier denied a Catholic cardinal’s request to say a prayer at the same event.

Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, a devout Muslim and the Founder and President of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, wrote:

The leaders of this event – Jibril Hough and Imam Siraj Wahhaj [are not] moderates. They are radicals. These individuals embrace Islamist supremacy and have demonstrated support for radical ideologies.

now i found the real meat:

Similar events are planned for the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida in late August, said Muhammad Jaaber, executive director of BIMA.

it is a Protest, not a sanctioned event note the date:

Sun, July 8, 2012 Islamists to Pressure Democratic Convention

Twenty-thousand Muslims are expected to make their presence known to the participants of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Charlotte, North Carolina. The DNC will be held Labor Day Weekend as will the three-day Muslim events starting with the weekly Friday afternoon “jummah” prayer.

In a news conference to announce the Muslim presence at the DNC, Jibril Hough, spokesman for the organization Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA), said Muslim presence is necessary to hold political parties accountable for issues that affect Muslims. Among the issues Hough sees as relevant are the Patriot Act, a law passed after the Sept. 11 attacks that expanded anti-terrorism surveillance, the National Defense Authorization Act, which allows indefinite military detention, and the fact that the New York Police Department has surveilled Muslims in an effort to root out terrorism from New York City.

The promo video being used to attract participants to the event features some "interesting" All-American Muslim speakers, including:

Hough, who says that Muslims were in America even before it was discovered by Christopher Columbus;

Siraj Wahaj –who was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center attacks that killed Americans and is known to preach about waging jihad;

James Yusuf Yee – who was charged with sedition and aiding the enemy among other things before all court-martial charges against him were dropped “citing national security concerns that would arise from the release of the evidence;”

Hassen Abdellah – who has made a living defending Islamic terror suspects – some whom have admitted their guilt, including a Muslim involved in the 9/11 Islamic terrorist attacks. (The DNC Jummah flyer proudly lists Abdellah as, “[sic] A Lead Defense Attorney For First 1993 World Trade Bombing Suspects Hassen Abdellah Has Etched His Name In Islamic History As It Is Being Written Right Here In America.”

According to the flyer, the DNC has approved BIMA’s activities at the DNC, including the mass Islamic prayer. Claiming victimhood, the flyer says, “It is mandatory that concerned Muslims stand up together for their Constitutional rights and human rights and repel injustices that are being perpetuated against the American Muslim Community.”

Other events over the course of the DNC include an Islamic issues conference and banquet and a cultural festival.

Hough said that he got the go ahead for the events from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe.

Similar events are planned for the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida in late August, said Muhammad Jaaber, executive director of BIMA.

i am just plain sick of the lies the political pundits make these days... none of it even makes sense anymore

Fact check this one and see what you think. Pretty shady if you ask me.

MSNBC abandons GOP convention during every speech by a minority

One of the left’s favorite attacks on the Republican Party is that it is the party of old white people, devoid of diversity and probably racist.

If you were watching MSNBC’s coverage of the Republican National Convention in Tampa on Tuesday night, you might believe those assertions, since missing from the coverage was nearly every ethnic minority that spoke during Tuesday’s festivities.

In lieu of airing speeches from former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis, a black American; Mia Love, a black candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from Utah; and Texas senatorial hopeful Ted Cruz, a Latino American, MSNBC opted to show commentary anchored by Rachel Maddow from Rev. Al Sharpton, Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews, Chris Hayes and Steve Schmidt.

Throughout this convention, Matthews has accused the Republicans of playing dog-whistle racist politics while on scene in Tampa. It isn’t clear, however, if Matthews will hurl accusations of racism at Davis, Love or Cruz for speeches his network failed to broadcast.

why cash?

i toldja that i stopped watching MSNBC when they went whole hog for Obama.

i voted for him cuz i didn't want hillary. I still don't want hillary.

but don;t you relise that the MSNBC and FOX news news models are both BS?

as long as you keep folloowing their crap they'll decide that market share matters.

i'm not surprised that MSNBC did it, and i'm never surprised when i turn on FOX at any hour of the day and hear some lie about Obama within five minutes.

this is all sick. it is both sides and it ain't gonna get better.

meanwhile, back a the ranch the cattle are starving form dorught, the grain can't ge ton thebarges cuz the river is too low and a hurricane breached the brand new leveee in NOLA and peopel are drowning..

yet you are woried that some third rate news producers cutaway from a fringe eleemnt...

sheeesh... the GOP didn';t even announce Ron Pauls votes and that he won several states outright inthe convention...

get your priorities straight dude...

i won't even watch the Dem convention cuz i've never been adn will never be a democrat.

Mitt Romney vs fact-checkers: the welfare law dispute

Mitt Romney's campaign continues to claim that Obama removed the work requirement from the welfare law, despite refutations from fact-checkers and respected newspapers.

“We’re not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact-checkers,” says Neil Newhouse, a Romney pollster.
