Wisconsin bar burns Obama effigy with duct tape wrapped around its neck as crowd laughs and cheers. The Secret Service is investigating a bar in West Allis, Wisconsin after a bartender burned President Obama in effigy in front of a cheering crowd. A video obtained by local NBC affiliate TMJ4 shows a bartender at the Yester Years Pub and Grill burning a small figurine of Obama “with what looks like duct tape” wrapped around its neck. The crowd can be heard laughing and shouting in the background. Watch TMJ4’s report:
Jerry Ann Hamilton, the President of Milwaukee’s NAACP, was “outraged” by the incident and worried it could be racially motivated. She called the images “very offensive” and said she would push for a full investigation. The town’s mayor and local residents also expressed dismay. The Secret Service confirmed it was investigating, but would not comment further. (HT: Mediaite)

SF, i live in MS. I won't ID my exact location, and i wouldn't ask you to either. We are her to explore ideas right?
In my "neighborhood"? black children (14) years old have been lynched for allegedly whistling at a white woman. It's not even clear he did it.
I urge you to read this wiki article. I know, it's only wiki, but there's are alot history behind these concerns and to ignore that is wrong just as burning anybody in effigy is wrong too.
of course there's protected speech. But we all know yelling fire in crowded theatre isn't, and neither is inciting illegal behaviour, whether it is conspricay or yelling front of a mob...
i saw Bush burned in effigy and disaproverd too..
those incidents were in fact followed up with people being thrown in jail. many of them were released without a hearing days later. And people posting her at he time called the protests a disgrace. Many of them posted that protesters against Bush belonged in jail. I am sur emany of them are Tea party members today.

I'm going to have to wait till I get home to read it, Glass. It's a little long for me to cover proplerly in between machine cycles. I'm not condoning what they did, I think it's reprehensible. But it IS legal and far from the constitutional definition of Treason.
Lots of horrid stuff is covered by Freedom of Speach.
Sad, but it's the price we pay to have our own freedom...others have to have theirs.

does Obama have the right to not be afriad? not really. He chose the job and every president is, and or should be afraid. BUT, other black people are still afraid. I see it every day with my own eyes and that's just the way it is.

Oh give me a break, this is nothing compared to what they did to Bush. Cant take their own medicine these liberals. Everything they did to Bush is coming back to them, how do they like it now? The problem is, the left are bigger crybabies than anyone.

As far as I can tell, *everybody* gave Bush a hall-pass to bumble, stumble, ripple and tumble his way through eight years of the most ridiculous presidency in the past century. By way of comparison, he made Gerald Ford look like a veritable Michael Jordan; Jimmy Carter a financial genius; Richard Nixon a two-bit burglar's fence; Ronald Reagan the next hero in a John le Carré novel; Bill Clinton a paragon of family values.

Its amazing nobody seems to want to accept the double standard going on. A lot of you here think that because I call out the hypocrisy that I am standing up for some of Bushs actions. Its a weak attempt to trap me into some category.
Nobody likes to taste the medicine do they, turn a blind eye to Obama administration failures they do.
