Barack Obama Bingo!

Before each speech or debate, visit Barack Obama Bingo and print one copy of this game card for each player, refreshing the page before each print, or have the players print their own bingo cards. These instructions will not be printed. You can also select card only and multiple card versions of this page when playing on line, or with a PDA.

Check off each block when you hear these words during the speech or debate. When you get five blocks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, stand up and shout Bullsh!t!

http://www.bullsh itbingo.net/cards/obama/

Or one other card...

Don't forget that I must hate him because I think he's:

1) Secretly Muslim
2) Not a native born citizen
3) A communist\socialist
4) Out to 'get my guns'
5) (insert conspiracy theory of choice here)

Did I miss anything, Jordan? If you're going to 'dismiss by cliche', at least be thorough. [Wink]

Really? Care to point out a single racist post that I have written, Jordan?

Or are you just knee-jerking the racist card like so many other Liberals?

Seriously, J, link to just one...

ok...sf...I am not going to wade thru your numerous posts ...you are too smart to post anything blatantly racist..(like a politician).. you hide it behind the rhetoric. I said that we see thru you..that means i see you, thru your posting, that you have have issues with obama..not as a prez, but as a man. You like to make fun of him when there is nothing to make fun of. your first post on this thread is an example of that.

what's so amusing about all this is that if you go back to the platform Bush ran on and compare it to what he did? Obama is about as pure as well, the driven snow [Big Grin] . I was a McCain supporter and when i saw Dubya debate i listened. I heard the guy say (when he made any sense at all )that he was against nationbuilding and just about everything else that he actually ended up doin. I heard a guy say he was going to set up faith based govt funding in TWO campaigns, He never did. He lied his face right off. Clinton did too BTW.

now, i know all the rats jumped ship when he did the one thing that he did right which was the bailouts, but that just shows how wrong and out of touch the ultra-right has become.

Bush was NEVER a conservative. He and his GOP Congress were liberal spenders who lied their azzes off to get elected. Obama is nowhere near their league. The economy is being saved by his spending policies right now, and yes we are goint o pay, but we would have gone BK and defaulted (like Greece) wtihout them. China would now OWN US.

as for the racism issue? we're all racists it's par to our gentic makeup, we are naturally selected to observe differences (that's called discrimination) of all kinds. The question really becomes one of what you are going to (using your higher mental functions) do about it. The claiming of racism for every criticism of Obama don't gut it. But if you are going to critisize Obama for silly stuff? People are going to quetion you and your pradigms.

our country is broken and partisan BS is going to make sure we continue the downward spiral.

i can point to the AZ law as a perfect example of liberalism out of control too. the public critsims of it hat i have seen all over the news are lies. get the mist out of your eyes....

To question is one thing, Glass; to insinuate that there is no rational basis for the critism is quite another. I disagree with the man on nearly every point of policy he's yet articulated(read). I really do hold a political view that is antithical to his. That's not racism, it's my belief system.

Partisanship has been around since just after Washington left office, Glass, and it will continue to be with us for as long as there are more than one viewpoint on issues.

When it comes down to it, do you believe that men should\can generally take care of themselves or do you believe that they NEED a Nanny State to coexist\survive?

One's answer to that question will always divide you from someone else...always.

Ok, I'll bite, by a raise of hands, how many here have made fun of Bush's 'articulation skills'?

No, no, no. One at a time...ok, everyone at once will do....

posing the question as you did exemplifies your fallaciuos black and white perception of the wrold.

There are over 16 million seperate and distinct colors available to the discriminating human eye, and even more to birds, they see intot he 300 to 400 nm (UV) spectrum too...

and how they ask their questions.

there is no black and white answer to your question.

given any choice? i would prefer to live in the late 1700's in the Great Smokey mts -does that answer your question? Log Cabin, split wood fires, slopping hogs, hunting bears with dogs and black powder?

I don't live there. i live here and now.

Without a fairly strong Central Govt that enforces the laws on the books that are derived by Democratic means in the context of a Republic? My personal rights would not exist at all. I am positive of that.

You're probably too young to remember Goofus and Gallant, so I'll merely point out that any given speaker exhibits idiosyncrasies that over time tend to "ID" that speaker. For instance, in the South and West, JFK's use of "Cuber" was reason to snicker. Likewise, LBJ's drawl was a source of amusement for folks who don't appreciate slow speech but quick wit.

The problem with the "bingo" deal is that it attempts to equivocate Obama's individual speech patterns with Bush's total disconnect from the English language and corresponding thought patterns.

To provide an on-board example: Ever notice how Glass uses phrases, followed by a question mark?

Sometimes I do, too. I picked it up from Glass.

Purlie Sue had a pet peeve about that. I don't.

Tex, years ago I had the privelege of taking some public speaking courses. There are two things that I learned that I think are relevant to the discussion.

1) 'Hand Talking'- Most people do this incorrectly. They either 'mumble' or in other words their hand jestures don't mean any thing, they're just moving; or they don't say the same thing as their words. The two conflict.

Next time Obama speaks, watch his hands. You'll see alot of 'index fingering' or pointing both up (as in I have an idea) or forward (pointing at the audience). Both have meaning. The up means he's focusing the attention to his words, the forward implies directed 'blame' or focusing attention on someone other than himself. Look closely at the words he uses with either jesture.

2) Avoid 'things'. The 'thing' is something that you consistently repeat. People begin to listen less 'to' you and more 'for' your 'thing'. That is why this constant repetition of phrases is so funny to me. For being such a great orator (and I'm actually serious in that praise) his speach writers tend to need a thesarus. His 'things' are becoming repetitious and, personally, annoying. They detract from what he intends to say because people begin to listen 'for' the 'things'.

Now, from your post...

quote:
The problem with the "bingo" deal is that it attempts to equivocate Obama's individual speech patterns with Bush's total disconnect from the English language and corresponding thought patterns.
This is what I'm amused\annoyed at. The same people that mocked Bush's verbal issues get all 'butt-hurt' when someone does the same to Obama. The race card is thrown quite liberally simply because of his race. If one didn't have a problem with the mockery for Bush, intellectual honesty would dictate that turn about is fair play.

Finally...

quote:
To tell you the truth?

I believe you're against *anything* Obama comes up with.

Sadly, you're probably right on this one...though not for the same reason as I believe you think.

OK, SF, that's one of the best posts you've made so far.

the handtalking? it's contrived as hell at this level of politics.

do you notice politicians no longer use straight fingering? They have taught themselves to touch their index finger to their thumb, or come close as they can with out touching? that's passive aggressive messaging without the intent of being passive at all, It's a lie and they all do it now because they don't want to be seen as overbearing powergrabbers. The ones that are straining not to point right at you and/or others are actually straining their thumb and index finger against each other. The ones that are most comfortable with this contrived pose are not quite touching the thumb and forefinger.

Obama is very good at not appearing ot be overbearing, i beleive that comes from his life as mixed race person having to move fluidly between different cultures. It's a very low aggression hand messaging system. Compare him to Dick Cheney sometime, who is fighting every communication instinct he has all the time.

Dubya? he was brain damaged man. I mean i spent a year or two making fun of him only cuz we sort of expect the President to be an articulate person. You don't hire somebody like him at corporate levels to represent your company how in hell did we hire him to represent the whole nation? It's stooopid.

I think you think that other people think you are rascist, and i beleive you think you are not but i know that you and everyone (as in 100% of the human population) really is. It's not something that is optional, it is something that higher functions overcome. BUT it istill exists at the basest levels of information processing because we have to have that ability to survive. We are programmed with insticnts that tell us to categorize every bit of information we gather. We have to teach kids to recognise who is "safe" and who is not at a very early age, but we are born with the instincts that allow us to teach kids which categories (that they already process) are labeled bad. Lack of discrimiation is actually a sign of retardism.

Kids are born not to eat veggies too. They have to hate veggies cuz if they didn't? They would eat every thing they came across and die by five. It's a holdover from hunter gatherer days. Your yard is full of poisonous plants if you have plants there in Utah.

When PC people (and i have some very close to me, way closer than i like) start getting on my case about my lack of PCness, i just tell 'em flat out, not to put their values on my words. Just cuz i say a jacket looks gay? It doesn't mean i think it's junk, heck i know that gay people have good taste and are lead artists in big business, and design almost all designer clothing . What i really mean (and didn't communicate properly), is that jacket is not me, and i'm not making a value judgement that they think they are hearing. I'm saying, i want my blue jeans and black leather.

The geico "gay" cavemen commercials are sly jab at that stuff. Yellow luggage? comeon man that's crap.

Other people hear what they hear because they have categorised information too. The PCpolice have the dirtiest minds too. BUT, if you think there are not people who are fuming because we have a black president just cuz he's black? Then you are naive. I taught my kids to not trust strangers, but i also taught them that different skin color does not automatically mean stranger. I actually lived that with them. People of my parents age mostly did not have a chance to "mingle" until they were in the military or older even college in the 50's was not desegregated. The chore of overcoming the processing bias was much harder for them at hat age, but they still did it.

the goal of becoming "nonracist" is to celebrate the diferences by rerouting the information that is already categorised (naturally) in your brain.

Every President gets made fun of. It humanizes them. The question is if it is humor intended to make light of foibles or to be derisive.

I think the card above is actually in many respects harmless. The problem I have with it is the title which is patently derisive. It is not saying "haha look at his funny idiosyncrasies", it says "liar".

As to Bush. Yep, I derided his ass every chance I got because he really was a liar. He got in on false pretenses by preying on the peoples religious idealism and then left them to rot. He f'd up just about everything he could have, and anything he didn't think to f up Cheney did for him.

He deserves every slanderous word that ever fell on his doorstep.

i'll start a thread called O'Bama's lies if you want. We can discuss them and their relative importance to other presidential lies ....

Funny how the apostrophe makes his name O'bama sound/look sound like an Irish native American Indian huh? [Big Grin]
