one of the things that people who want to return to Founders Values, and people who don't, don't seem to understand is that the Founders and the rest of the country until about 1908 didn't beleive the govt had any business regulating what you put into your body at all...
the AMA was a prime mover in getting the Govt and SCOTUS to move from this position...
i remeber in the 60's and 70's my grandad (who bought EVERYTHING wholesesale) having cartons of Vicks inhalers and using them non-stop.
Levomethamphetamine, other names include l-methamphetamine, levodesoxyephedrine, l-desoxyephedrine, and levmetamfetamine (Vicks Vapor Inhaler), is the levorotary (R-isomer) of methamphetamine, levomethamphetamine is a sympathomimetic vasoconstrictor which is the active ingredient used in some over-the-counter nasal decongestants including Vicks Vapor Inhaler.
Levomethamphetamine mimicks the sympathetic nervous system but is not thought to be nearly as addictive or centrally active as the d- isomer of methamphetamine (dextro-methamphetamine, d-methamphetamine, d-desoxyephedrine, etc.) and only exerts vasoconstricting effects used for decongestion.
Grandad did have sinus problems, but i wonder now if they weren't withdrawal?
Can a vicks inhaler make you test positive for meth?
Not any more. They changed the drug in it to one you can't make meth from. Drug Dependence Quiz
BTW? my DD which is simply curiosity after viewing a 60 minutes show on so-called smart drugs is that the chemicla in question IS still the same, but hey changed thename to confuse the tweakers, which ain't too hard IMO

I knew a chick who was nerdy straight in childhood, then effin' married a character who ran dope traps from here to both coasts and back. He's out of then pen, again, and seems to be doing OK. (Not my day to watch, lol...)
She, however, died about 10-12 years ago, linked to "inhalers," like you sniff for a head cold/congestion. The idea being, sniff it a bit, every few days: don't snort it everday, all day.

well, this was a long time ago, but my recollection of him when i was a kid (60's and 70's) was that he always had an inhaler and a booger rag. One thing about him? he never stopped moving, not until he passed at 86. I don't recall him having the inhaler or the rag after i came home from the navy and never even thought about it again till i was reading about this stuff.
You're not just right about the inhalers Tex, it's everything. Heck even sex more than once a day is not healthy
