Dow crashing...looks like the Greece issue. I have been watching the riots in Greece and its getting ugly. What kind of government is set up in Greece? Are they all dependent on the government? Doesnt seem like a system like ours.

Spending more than taking in....hmmm sounds familiar.

Well the panic helped me out today, I hope others had the same luck. Gold broke out over 1200$/oz today as a result.

i can't say i've been following the market closely enough the last six weeks to make a call, but i have been expecting it to retrace blow 9000 and i would not be surpirsed to the 7000's again. i can't say this is it, but what i do see is that alot of people are willing to pull the plug at any minute because they don't trust the levels we reached either. pull your five year DOW or S&P charts to see if this it, cuz the last one did a few wierd things before it came slippin down too..

it is possible the market should not have gone as low as it did and 11000 is where it belonged anyway.

when the last dump happened i didn't expect it to make all the way down to 11000 at first, but we had a guy here who did- rimasco was saying that he expected 11,000 when we were at 14K and that was without the mortgage crisis..

rimasco hasn't posted in almost two years.

Yup, they said someone made a 15 BILLION dollar sale instead of a 15 MILLION. So they said it was a fat finger typo that caused the panic....kinda of disturbing to know that something as simple as that can cause widespread panic.

i don't beleive that a fat finger can do billions instead of millions.

i think that's just them trying to unruffle feathers.

a fat finger trade should not cause this kind of "stress" unless other things are adding to the panic, they are and i stll think we get the next leg down, but i'm not prepared to say this is it.

i've been ready to buy property forawhile now and i was only playing indexes when i got my money out to buy proeperty last year.

yeah, that sounds wrong to me...

the b and m keys are close but not next to each other and they are on differnt hands. i'm a terrible typist i make mistakes all te time, but the b to m mistake sounds screwy- villions or nillions or gillions or hillions are easier to do then billions.

I don't know their platforms, of course, but I can't imagine spelling anything during a trade.

Yeah, but what if you dumped, in defensive mode? In other words, it wasn't a market correction...

so was this a scheme to buy stock cheap? i wonder how many stop losses were triggered?

i used to see this happen on a smaller scale, in penny stocks every morning.

often the %age of change was even bigger butt he prices were pennies not dollars.

I was wondering the same thing on the stop losses.

Someone could have made a killing if they were selling short, especially if they knew it was coming.

Do they pay investors back for their losses because of the glitch?

It was the prior administrations fault. We inherited this problem.
