How the hell is a bunch of banks making real estate loans ,security raters, and dupes for customers to buy them have anything to do with healthcare. seeking freedom, what are you seeking freedom from reason?

You still don't get what this whole thread was about, Ray?
Sen. Brown's election wasn't the 'victory' for Repubs that some are trying to make this out to be. It was a repudiation of both Dems and Repubs and their 'spend cash and ignore the people' policies. Average people are mad, Ray. The Dems just happen to be the focus because they are the more recent offenders. The Health Care mess is just more tinder on the bonfire.

I have very little to say about Brown, hadn't heard much about him prior to his win other than that he was against the healthcare bill. I will say it is a shame that Kennedy's seat is the very one to threaten defeat once again of the very issue he spent his entire life advocating and died thinking it was finally going to be achieved. I don't believe in curses, but good lord -that family....
If I were Obama I would tell the Blue Dogs to start working a new bill behind closed doors that could be palatable to red moderates. Let Pelosi and Reid spin until the wheels come off in case they actually find a way to get it done but otherwise wait a year and have the bluedogs unveil the new bill in year three after a hard year of putting the economic house in order.
But perhaps that is a losing strategy. I have always been better at planning defensively than offensively.

I think a 'gang of #' approach would be better if Obama intends to get re-elected, Big. This back room stuff is half the issue with his plummeting poll numbers. For one who harped so strongly on the 'transparency' kick, he sure keeps alot of doors off limits to the public. (shrug)
But bringing the Blue Dogs and Red Mods together would go along way to actually providing real health care reform.
