Since we are talking about insects here's a random little oddity...an old farmers almanac trick.

Want to know what the temperature is outside? The frequency of a crickets chirp is influenced by how hot it is outside. Find a cricket and count how many times it chirps in 15 seconds and then add forty to find a very close approximation of the temperature in Fahrenheit.

those flies are cool..
we need alot of 'em, i think we have at least 30 fire ant mounds in our one acre.

intersting thing about fire ants tho... they eat termites. so we don't have any... who'da thunk it? [Wink]
