WOW, why didnt I know about this before? The whole time the left smears Sarah Palin over mostly fabricated issues and the Republican "bathroom incident" at the airport.

Why is Barney Fwank still in office? Isnt he the one who is responsible for forcing banks to relax lending restrictions to give home loans to people who cant afford them? What a mess.

Barney Frank is a disgusting individual.

"Here, to get a little perspective, is what Congressman Barney Frank did several years ago. He answered a personal ad in the Washington Blade in which a male prostitute, Stephen Gobie, drew public attention to his "hot bottom" and "large endowment." Frank began to pay Gobie for sex and even invited Gobie to move in with him. When the arrangement soured, Gobie revealed to the press that he had been running a full-service prostitution ring out of Frank's Capitol Hill apartment.

Why then is Craig on the ropes while Frank continues as a Congressman in good standing? Certainly the difference isn't homosexuality, which seems to be a common factor in both cases. Nor can the explanation be found in the gravity of the offense involved. Craig's is much less serious, since the worst he did was proposition another adult to have sex, not exactly the first time in history that this has happened. Frank, by contrast, was employing a male hooker for paid favors and providing operating facilities for a D.C. prostitution ring."

the difference is the honesty of the people involved.

Franks never campaigned on "family values".

as amatter of fact? i knew he was gay ten years ago...

Scandal: An affair with a male prostitute
How Outed: The Washington Times broke the news after the escort in question shared his story with the paper

Widely regarded as one of the most intelligent and well spoken members of the House of Representatives, Barney Frank, a Democratic U.S. congressman for nearly 30 years and the first openly gay member of the House, almost undid his career in 1989 after an affair with Steve Gobie, a male prostitute. Although Frank was single at the time — thus not committing adultery — he did pay someone for sex (with personal funds), which is illegal in his state of Massachusetts. But the poor judgment didn't end there. Frank hired Gobie to run errands and allowed him to live at his home, where Frank obviously hoped he would be rehabilitated and renounce his life of sin. The only problem: Gobie kept on working as a prostitute — from Frank's home.

The Representative maintained that he had no knowledge that his digs were being used as a brothel and said that he kicked Gobie out once he learned what the escort had been doing there. Desperate to prove his limited culpability in the case, Frank requested an investigation by the House ethics committee. The 10-month probe found that Frank did not, in fact, know about the happenings in his home but that he should be reprimanded for use of House privilege in waiving 33 of Gobie's parking tickets and for writing a memo that attempted to end Gobie's probation for a prior infraction. Despite attempts by former Idaho Rep. Larry Craig (the stall-inator) to have the Massachusetts Rep. removed, Frank went on to win several reelections by wide margins.

welcome to Washington DC.

you once asked me why i don't go into politics... [Wink]

don't get me wrong, i'm no angel, i just don't have the stomach for the meals they serve...

the only reason i supported Obama? he had the least amount of time in DC. Does that make him a Saint? nah... he just hasn't gotten as much slime on him (yet) [Big Grin]

they're all bought and paid for anyway Cash. those bills nobody reads? they are written now by corporate lawyers working the angles...

they vote on 'em based on the word of the people that paid their campaign bills.

the Dems and the GOP are both in their pockets. sure there are differences in who buys who, but like you said? GE gives detailed instructions to Obama and prolly would have to Mccain too...

GE is much better than Ken Lay, who owned both Bush (early on) and Clinton..

it goes all the way back to Roman politics too

"If the American people ever allow private banks
to control the issue of their money,
first by inflation and then by deflation,
the banks and corporations that will
grow up around them (around the banks),
will deprive the people of their property
until their children will wake up homeless
on the continent their fathers conquered."

Thomas Jefferson

IMO? the main goal of the politicians is to keep us voters arguing over the petty ass bullchit so they can keep robbing US blind. it seems to work pretty well..

Cmon Glassman, just give a crack at it. Run for a local seat and see if it gives you any gratification to straighten things out. It shouldnt be that hard to do so if you are a good person.
