I have been voting early since it has been allowed in Texas. I did so again this morning.
For the first time ever, I had to wait in a line to get into the polling place.

If I am not mistaken Lockman, I believe Bdgee wanted to vote Bush in for a third term.
Bdgee, this is a good sign IMO, I hope this election bring a record breaking voter turnout.

But, just as with your Mets love in baseball, you are whipping a dead horse. The race is over.

I didn't see any youngsters while I waited in line, urnso77, but the location where I was voting is in an area where there isn't much chance they might come there. Across where TCU or TWU or near one of the Tarrant County Campuses might be all young folks.
Unlike election day, you can vote in any polling place in the county for early voting, so I have gone to one that usually has very low volume to avoid having to wait in line. (I'd have never made it as an Englishman, because I am not much of a Q-er.)
From the talk I heard from the workers and the watchers, they were surprised with the volume the first day (Monday), but are handling it ok now and seemed to indicate that the volume is huge now as well.
There were 12 voting machines there in operation (and none without people waiting for them), while at that same location in the past, the most I had seen was maybe half a dozens (generally with no people waiting), so they either had expected the increase or had rethought things since monday and brought in more.

I think it will bring record numbers, but not all because of the tickets.
Mostly, I think the people are appalled at what can happen when they let complacency and failure to properly police the polls place in power those with disgusting disrespect for the principles and laws we in this Country hold closest to our hearts. I think this is a watershed election because the people are making a statement that they intend to take back control and not to allow it to be usurped again. It is a movement for America, one that will last more than a tenure in office, one that will last for generations.
This is our Country and the political parties are supposed to be our political parties, responsible to all the people, and we the people intend to take them back, FOR THE PEOPLE!

Urnso77, Welcome back. It's been a good while since I have seen you around here. Good to see you posting again.
Bdgee, I agree. My father hasn't voted since the early seventies, and even he registered to vote this year. People are sick of being trampled by the government, and I think most are finally coming around and realizing that the reason we are being trampled over is because most have neglected serious and informed participation in our election process for too long.
Surfer, I don't think Bdgee meant more government... Rather, I believe he means a government that serves the people, not the other way around, like we have today.
Just my 2 cents anyway, NR.
