it was. i don't know if anybody bothered to ask in the last few years...

no-one should be allowed to borrow more than 1/3 of their monthly pay will cover.

if you consider yourself financially conservative? you should be shooting for 25% on a 15 year mortgage.

15 years have a lower interest and you pay 1/2 as much in total...

in 30 year note? you pay 4 times the face value of the loan, in a 15 year note you pay double...

the amount of interest does change that some..

The guidelines I found are basically the same: 28% should be the MAX for the amount to be financed, then no more than 36% for *everything* house related: insurance, taxes, maintenance, etc.

so (1/3) 1,111$ can almost get you a mortgage on a 150K$ home but you'll still have other expenses to maintain it..
Glass, this just shows how out of touch you are! Living in a straw hut in Africa is poverty. Living in a $150,000 house is LUXURY!

quote:
600$ per month will get you two POS cars and insurance and gasoline.
Anyone that can spend $600 per month on vehicles is NOT living in poverty. Having no shoes is poverty!

quote:
750$ per month will allow you 25$ per day for food for the whole family...
that leaves you with 883$ per month before anything else...

Spending $25 per day for food is not living in poverty. Digging through the trash at the city dump for scraps of food is poverty.

guess what? a good health insurance policy costs 1000$ per month.... (mcain wants to give you a tax credit for 250 per month, but he'll take away the tax break from the employers)
Having health insurance is a luxury and one that is provided by many employers in the United States. Most employees have monthly insurance expenses that are WELL below $1,000 per month. I agree that McCain's health care plan is STUPID! He's more socialist than capitalist!

actaully? the employers pay for most of the insurance and 1000$ per month buys a medium to good policy... the employers take a tax credit on it too..

so if somebody has health insurance paid by their company? they are still EARNING it. at 200$ per month contibuted bythe employee? add 800$ more in their true pay....

ask SF if he'd make it with 800$ less per month? i can tell you the answer would be the foodbank...

you have two-dimensional way of looking at stuff...

at 40,000 per year with no health insurance? all basic needs of family of four cannot be met,if you think poverty is much worse than that? then you have a deficiency of the soul.

Having health insurance is a luxury

and you tell us you are a Christian?

"Having health insurance is a luxury"

"and you tell us you are a Christian?"

What he is is a self important fool that has never had to worry about a child with a 103 degree fever and hurting terribly and begging mama and daddy to fix it. (Muslims and Hindus and atheist need health insurance too. This isn't a religious thing.)

Whatever else he may be or not be, he's a selfish egotistical sicko.
