Ok Munchie, most here think that you're full of chit, here's a chance to prove them wrong. Move to Wisconsin. Seriously. I'll hire you and place you in a non-sweat inducing job, train you, secure you a place to live and make sure that your wage is ample to provide for your rent, food, and enough left over for a few luxuries in life. I'll include a full package of medical and dental insurance to boot. Couple that with your disability pay and you should be able to live fairly high off the hog. Interested?

That is quite a generous offer Upside. Do you consider yourself a philanthropist or are you just trying to prove a point? If sincere, you are a credit to humanity. Hell, if I didn't have family and a good job, I would take you up on your offer [Big Grin]

MM didn't ask for anything, Upside was just nice enough to offer. Frankly I am kind of curious to see how this shakes out. My new mantra is WWUD (wud for short) "What would Udside Do" [Big Grin]

Greetings Upside:

The Munchkin Man would like to thank you very much for your offer of a job.

Please accept the Munchkin Man's apologies for taking over 24 hours to reply.

The Munchkin Man is feeling a little overwhelmed by your generosity and is somewhat at a loss of words.

You asked if the Munchkin Man was interested.

The answer is Yes.

The Munchkin Man is very interested and would like to know a little more about the job you are offering.

Would you be willing to tell the Munchkin Man the type of job you are offering and the type of work it entails?

By asking this question, the Munchkin Man is not trying to be picky. The Munchkin Man just wants to know if this job is compatible with the skill sets he already has and get an idea of how much training he might need.

The Munchkin Man is not even asking about salary. Your mention of health and dental insurance alone makes it attractive to the Munchkin Man.

Also, would you be willing to tell the Munchkin Man the city or town in Wisconsin the Munchkin Man might be moving to?

If the Munchkin Man might be moving there, the Munchkin Man would like to do some research on the area.

The Munchkin Man has one more question:

How long is your offer available?

The reason the Munchkin Man is asking this question is that the Munchkin Man would have to tie up a lot of loose ends before moving.

For example, the Munchkin Man has no idea what the outcome of his court case of January 3rd is going to be.

If the event that the Judge rules in favor of the Munchkin Man, then the Munchkin Man would feel obligated to remain in his apartment for the duration of his one year lease, which expires at the end of February.

Another issue is that the Munchkin Man is in the middle of applying for Social Security Disability for the 3rd time, and this time with free professional representation from the state of Virginia.

The Munchkin Man feels he should remain in this area, if humanly possible, even if it means moving into a homeless shelter for the next two to three months, in order to complete this process. The Munchkin Man understands that he will have to fill out some additional forms soon.

The Munchkin Man also has a confession to make:

The idea of moving to an entirely new state, one which the Munchkin Man has never visited, frightens the wits out of the Munchkin Man.

The Munchkin Man is afraid of change.

The Munchkin Man is reminded of one of his favorite passages from the writings of the late Indian philosopher, Jiddu Krisnamurti:

"Fear is not of the unknown, but of the loss of the known."

The Munchkin Man believes there is a lot of truth to this.

The Munchkin Man has lived in Norfolk, Virginia, during most of his adolescent and adult life. The Munchkin Man feels a very special bonding and kinship with this area.

Perhaps, the Munchkin Man is clinging to his current city and state like a security blanket and too tightly for his own good.

In relation to Krisnamurti's quotation stated above, the city of Norfolk, Virginia, is what the Munchkin Man "knows", and the Munchkin Man has a fear of losing it.

As a result, the Munchkin Man could be limiting his opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Another issue is that finding a place for the Munchkin Man to live might be a major challenge.

This brings the Munchkin Man to yet another confession.

The Munchkin Man already has a bankruptcy on record. The Munchkin Man isn't proud of that, but it's true.

If an eviction is added to the Munchkin Man's record, a prospective landlord would probably view this as a "double whammy."

The Munchkin Man has two additional worries:

1) The Munchkin Man could not afford the moving expenses to Wisconsin at this time.

2) The Munchkin Man needs to get some work done to his car before putting it through the task of driving to Wisconsin.

In summary:

The Munchkin Man is very thankful for your offer.

The Munchkin Man is interested in finding out more about your offer.

The Munchkin Man is not in a position right now to make a decision right away. The Munchkin Man might need two or three more months to tie up loose ends before moving. Or possibly longer.

Is there any way that you and the Munchkin Man can exchange email addresses, so that you and the Munchkin Man can explore this further in a private dialogue?

In closing, the Munchkin Man would like to thank you once again for your offer.

The Munchkin Man wishes you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

With Blessings,

Munchkin Man

Upside,
You do sound like a nice guy and a person who is willing to give back to others that are in a tough spot. You do walk the walk.

I will never admit to this statement if you quote me during a battle about a particular post. [Smile]

Have a great Christmas.

First, a correction.

" not a chance in hell he/she will ever take upside up(lol) on his offer."

Not "he/she"........"IT".....

Second. Up is easily the kindest and most sincere of us all.

Third, what is this "snow"?

Nothing yet. Still negotiating. You can't just pick up a free agent of the Munchkin Mans caliber without some intense dickering back and forth.
