O.J. Simpson to Discuss Killings

Nov 15, 5:51 AM (ET)

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Fox plans to broadcast an interview with O.J. Simpson in which the former football star discusses "how he would have committed" the slayings of his ex-wife and her friend, for which he was acquitted, the network said.

The two-part interview, titled "O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here's How It Happened," will air Nov. 27 and Nov. 29, the TV network said.

Simpson has agreed to an "unrestricted" interview with book publisher Judith Regan, Fox said.

"O.J. Simpson, in his own words, tells for the first time how he would have committed the murders if he were the one responsible for the crimes," the network said in a statement. "In the two-part event, Simpson describes how he would have carried out the murders he has vehemently denied committing for over a decade."

The interview will air days before Simpson's new book, "If I Did It," goes on sale Nov. 30. The book, published by Regan, "hypothetically describes how the murders would have been committed."

In a video clip on the network's Web site, an off-screen interviewer says to Simpson, "You wrote 'I have never seen so much blood in my life.'"

"I don't think any two people could be murdered without everybody being covered in blood," Simpson responds.

Simpson, who now lives in Florida, was acquitted in a criminal trial of the 1994 killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. Simpson was later found liable in 1997 in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Goldman family.

Messages left with Simpson and his attorney Yale Galanter were not immediately returned.

This killer, as with all killers, are dying to spill the details of the crime. This man is conflicted because he wants to describe in exacting detail how he murdered his wife but he does not want to directly out himeself. It should be interesting.

Well said:

Of all the low down, sleazy and sadistic tricks, O.J. Simpson — a disgusting, murdering liar — is cashing in big-time on his notorious crimes.

The disgraced former football star who killed his ex-wife, his children’s mother, almost cutting her head off in the process, also killed an innocent young man with his whole life ahead of him, and played the black community for fools — has scored the biggest payday of his life.

It was a not guilty verdict that sharply highlighted and aggravated America’s racial divide, most whites shocked and outraged, most blacks overjoyed.

Now, everyone can see how this punk played us all.

With a pretense that should make everybody, (especially those who sincerely believed in his innocence), gag, an almost half-hearted claim that his portrayal of the murders is hypothetical, in, "If I Did It" Simpson has written a book in which he confesses to the crime the misguided Los Angeles jury acquitted him of back in 1995.

According to the National Enquirer, which broke the story, Simpson’s account of the double murder in the book is, "so detailed and chillingly realistic that it leaves no doubt it is a confession of what really happened."

According to the Enquirer and other sources, I’m ashamed to say that Simpson is being paid $3.5 million by Regan Books and by Harper Collins, sister companies, to the one that produces this program, for the book and related television interviews.

The bloody story Simpson tells involves a mysterious accomplice named "Charlie," accompanying him that terrible night in the infamous white Bronco to Nicole’s condo in Brentwood, on the Westside of Los Angeles.

Furious with his ex-wife Nicole, because she’s been dating other men, he goes armed with a huge knife, a wool cap and gloves. As OJ and "Charlie" stalk Nicole, Simpson confronts a friend of hers, Ron Goldman as he approaches Nicole’s home on an errand to return eyeglasses she left behind at Mezza Luna, the restaurant where Goldman worked as a waiter.

Then, with his two children asleep upstairs, Simpson writes that the next thing he remembers is standing in the dark listening to the pounding of his own heart, his shirt covered in blood, the two bodies lying at his feet.

The smug pig, whose lawyers used the Rodney King beating backlash to impeach the credibility of the police witnesses with the largely black jury, has reportedly already spent much of the money he’s been advanced for the project.

And he’s done it in a diabolically clever way that shields the money from the victim’s families, who have a $33.5 million wrongful death judgment pending against Simpson.

He’s reportedly used it to pay off a Miami home, which is protected by law from creditors, and a luxury condo offshore in the Bahamas.

Nicole’s sister Denise, since the crimes an advocate for victims of domestic violence wrote, "it’s unfortunate that Simpson has decided to awaken the nightmare…We regret that Nicole’s children, Sydney and Justin will be exposed to Simpson’s inexplicable behavior and we will provide them with our love and support during this time."

Simpson makes me want to spit.

Evidence:

* DNA analysis of the blood found in, on, and near Simpson's Bronco revealed traces of Simpson's, Nicole's, and Ronald Goldman's blood.
* DNA analysis of bloody socks found in Simpson's bedroom were proven to be Nicole's blood.
* Simpson's hair was found on Goldman's shirt even though Simpson claimed not to have been at the home and never to have met Goldman.
* DNA analysis of blood on the gloves was proven to be a mixture of Simpson's, Nicole's, and Ronald Goldman's. The gloves also contained particles of Goldman's hair and carpet fibers from Simpson's Bronco.
* Arrest records indicate that Simpson had been charged with the beating of his wife Nicole. Photos of Nicole's bruised and battered face emerged. Simpson was sentenced to 3 years of community service for the crime.
* Police discovered that the dome light in the Bronco had been removed. A search of the vehicle revealed the light was carefully placed under the passenger seat and was in good working condition. Puzzling blood smears on the passenger floorboard indicated that Simpson may have purposely removed the light and placed it under the seat before the murders (assuming he had indeed murdered Brown Simpson and Goldman). Then after the murders he may have unsuccessfully tried to find it to put it back in the socket. Police on stakeouts routinely remove the dome lights from their vehicles to avoid detection when the car doors are opened.
* It was discovered that one set of keys to Nicole Brown Simpson's home were missing. She had indicated to several family members and friends that she feared Simpson had stolen them to gain entry into her home. The keys were later found in Simpson's home.
* Paula Barbieri indicated that she had broken up with Simpson the day of the murders. She indicated he seemed very disturbed at the news. Phone records proved that Simpson attempted to contact her shortly before the murders from his Bronco's cellular phone.
* The left-hand glove found at Nicole's home and the right-hand glove found at OJ's home proved to be a match. They were also proven to be Simpson's size. Even though Simpson claimed under oath that he did not own a pair of Aris Isotoner gloves, several media pictures emerged showing Simpson wearing these exact gloves.
* Bloody footprints in Nicole's home were identified as being made from a pair of Bruno Magli shoes. These shoes are expensive and rare. The size 12 prints match Simpson's shoe size. Simpson claims under oath that he does not own such shoes and in fact indicates that he thinks they "are ugly". A photograph was introduced showing Simpson wearing the exact shoes at an NFL football game. Simpson claimed under oath that the photo is a forgery and is backed up by an expert witness. Later, another photo taken by a different source, also showed Simpson wearing the same shoes at another NFL football game.
* Friends and family indicated that Nicole claimed that Simpson had been stalking her. She said that everywhere she went she saw Simpson there watching her. She was afraid because Simpson had already told her he would kill her if he ever found her with another man.
* Ross Cutlery provided store receipts indicating Simpson had purchased a 12-inch Stiletto knife six weeks before the murders. A replica of the knife was purchased by the police and provided an exact match to the wounds on Nicole and Ronald Goldman.

Simpson has suggested a hitman killed Ron and Nicole. None of the assertions explain Simpson's behavior following the murders, such as the self-incriminating statement to police, the attempt to flee, the suicide note, the apologies to the police who eventually arrested him, the inability to remember how he had cut his finger to the bone the night of the murders, or his differing statements about his whereabouts during the time of the murders. In addition, none of this explains how Simpson's DNA was at the murder scene and the victims' blood was inside his car and his home.

There is no doubt in my mind that he is guilty of murder.

But our legal system says no and he can never be retried again.

You would think a person in his shoes would just enjoy the gift he was handed and for some reason he does not have to pay with his freedom for what happened.

Good luck to simpson he must have a set of brass nads to do what he is doing with the book,

O'Reilly Tries to Loofah Away Fox Stench

Bill O'Reilly got his falafels in a bunch last night over news that O.J. Simpson will explain precisely how he didn't-but-might butcher his ex-wife and her friend—on a Fox prime-time special. Said the frequently flabbergasted superpundit:

"Here's a man many believe did kill those two Americans, Nicole Brown Simpson being mother of his two children. Yet Simpson is participating in a project that is exploiting the murders. Shamefully, the Fox Broadcasting Unit is set to carry the program, which is simply indefensible, and a low point in American culture. For the record, Fox Broadcasting has nothing to do with the Fox News Channel."

O' really? That last part must have come as shocking news to O'Reilly's boss, Fox News Channel chief Roger Ailes, who also chairs Fox Television Stations, the group behind the forthcoming "low point in American culture." The shared "Fox" moniker is no coincidence, either. Fox Broadcasting and the Fox News Channel are both owned by Australian overlord and News Corp. founder and chief Rupert Murdoch. And the Fox Broadcasting Corporation—the people who program prime time for the Fox network—regularly air Fox News-produced programming, from coverage of presidential speeches to O'Reilly's special "documentaries" about people who hate children and Jesus.

In other words, Fox News Channel was conceived, launched, and continues to be run by the man who is responsible for running the selfsame stations that will, shamefully, broadcast Simpson's fantasy about killing "those two Americans" to millions of other Americans.

Radar contacted spokespeople for both Fox News Channel and Fox Television Stations via e-mail for comment. Conveniently they were the same person: Brian Lewis, who said, "Roger has absolutely nothing to do with the programs Fox Broadcasting Corporation broadcasts"—on the television stations for which Ailes is ultimately responsible.

HarperCollins, the publishing house that is paying Simpson a reported $3.5 million for the book in which he fully fleshes out his all-too-real murder scenario, is also owned by Murdoch's News Corp. While O'Reilly excoriated Simpson's publisher and brainstormed legal options against it with guest litigator Sunny Hostin—she said she would seek to freeze HarperCollins's assets if she were representing Goldman's family—he never mentioned it by name, or pointed out that it's also owned by the people who cut his paychecks.

Surely, Judith Regan, who will be conducting the interview with O.J. and whose imprint at HarperCollins is publishing the Simpson book, has nothing to do with Fox News Channel, though. Just ask Fox News bloviator Sean Hannity, whose books Regan publishes. Or Roger Ailes himself, who once gave Regan a show—Judith Regan Tonight—on the Fox News Channel.

It will air and should air. There are people who not think he comitted the murders. This may change the opinions of the matter.

Plus many will be watching. Millions will be watching. Faux News will not pass on the advertising revenue opportunities.

OJ 'confession': now US turns on Murdoch

News that Murdoch organisations have scooped a book and TV deal based on the OJ Simpson case has prompted a US-wide wave of revulsion

Paul Harris in New York
Sunday November 19, 2006
The Observer

It must have seemed like a good idea to someone. The man most Americans believe is behind their country's most infamous murder agrees to a virtual confession in a book and TV interview. Surely it would be a ratings and publishing smash.

Not quite so fast. For in reality OJ Simpson has succeeded where millions of angry liberals have always failed: striking a direct blow at the media empire of Rupert Murdoch, and especially its controversial broadcasting arm, headed by Fox television.

A wave of revulsion and open criticism, reaching a climax this weekend, has swept America in the wake of revelations that Simpson intends to capitalise on the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman with a book and TV 'confession' in a £1.8 million deal brokered by Murdoch-owned companies. So widespread is the condemnation that even some of the top names on Murdoch's own cable channel, Fox News, have urged viewers not to buy the book or watch the interview.

It is no surprise. In both book and interview Simpson describes how he would have murdered Brown and Goldman. But only if 'hypothetically' he had done it. He even describes the amount of blood that would have been caused by slashing the pair to death.

The extent of the reaction perhaps typifies a case that has both outraged and enthralled Americans.

Certainly, the public vilification of Simpson seems to have taken its toll on Judith Regan, the controversial US book publisher who conducted the interview and whose Murdoch-owned ReganBooks is behind the deal. She has issued a bizarre eight-page defence of the deal in which she confessed to being a battered wife and that she felt the spirit of the slain couple in the room with her as she spoke to Simpson.

Given the scale of the backlash, it is no surprise that Regan is feeling the pressure. Murdoch and Fox must have been taken aback at the sheer speed at which the publishing scoop of the century has turned into a potential public relations disaster.

Local TV stations have already been swamped by complaints from the public, prompting many to opt out of showing the interview.

The outrage has spread to the publishing world, where revulsion at the book itself, entitled If I Did It, has already seen some stores start sending it back.

The anger was sharpened by publicity stunts such as the colouring of the 'I Did It' part of the book's title in red, and the fading of the 'If' into a pale white. In California the owner of Brentwood Bookstore, near where the murders took place, has refused to stock it, while the Northern California Independent Booksellers' Association, made up of some 240 bookstores, has emailed its members suggesting cash generated by the book be donated to domestic violence charities. Even some of the biggest media names in Murdoch's own empire have joined the fray, though the cynical might interpret that as a clever media ploy to have one's cake and eat it.

Bill O'Reilly, the conservative and outspoken anchor of a talk show on Fox News, called for a boycott of advertisers who buy ad space during the two-hour long interview. Another Fox star, Geraldo Rivera, famous for his patriotic stance on the war on terror, declared that the Simpson deal was 'appalling' and vowed to oppose it.

The Fox channel has long been a liberal bete noire and the subject of numerous documentaries about its obvious conservative bias. But the Simpson scandal is different, with the sheer involvement of Murdoch's empire striking at the heart of middle America. It was controlled from the start by disparate elements of Murdoch's News Corp empire: ReganBooks is owned by Murdoch's HarperCollins. The interview is to be shown on two separate shows on Murdoch's Fox network, just in time for a vital ratings boost that will set lucrative future advertising rates. And news of the deal was first revealed in the Murdoch-owned New York Post last week.

The New York Daily News, bitter rival to the Post, immediately came out blasting both its editorial barrels at Murdoch and Regan. In an editorial directly addressed to Regan, the newspaper accused her and her boss of making blood money. 'He did it for buckets of bloody bucks, just as you and Murdoch are,' the paper thundered.

But Murdoch is used to media storms. Fox, too, has long revelled in controversial attention. Both have often trusted the old adage that there is no such thing as bad publicity, even when it involves Simpson's hypothetical confession of a murder that was all too real. But if millions of Americans still tune in to watch or buy the book, then Murdoch will have had the last laugh over his critics.

It would not be the first time.

Where are they now?

The lawyer
Johnnie Cochran, OJ's lawyer, attracted as much attention in the trial as OJ himself or the famous glove the footballer struggled to pull on in front of the court. Cochrane died in 2005.

OJ's home
The house in Brentwood, Hollywood, where the former football star once lived, was sold long ago and demolished.

The restaurant
Mezzaluna, where Nicole Brown Simpson, OJ's former wife, had dinner before her murder has been replaced by a coffee shop.

The condo
The house number has been changed on the condo where Nicole and friend Ronald Goldman were killed.

Off course people are digusted as I am we had this use less trial shoved down our throats for God knows how long. It took our legal system and made a clown show out of it. And a decsion was made out of racism.

All off that let a murderer walk free IMHO

Now he wrights a book and gives an interview and basicly tells us how he did it.

How due you think lawful honest people would react after all most of us are sick of it.

It's been canceled...

The Associated Press-

After a firestorm of criticism, News. Corp. said Monday that it has canceled the O.J. Simpson book and television special "If I Did It."

"I and senior management agree with the American public that this was an ill-considered project," said Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. chairman. "We are sorry for any pain that this has caused the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson."
