POSTED: 3:17 p.m. EST, November 7, 2006 Adjust font size: SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (AP) -- A man who pleaded guilty to putting his wife's puppy in a 200-degree oven, crippling it, was sentenced Monday to six months in jail.
Third District Judge William Barrett ordered Marc Christopher Vincent, 36, to serve six months in jail without the chance of early release. He must also pay a $500 fine and $986 in veterinary bills for the dog.
Vincent, 36, pleaded guilty September 18 to one count of misdemeanor aggravated animal cruelty for putting the dog in an oven for five minutes on May 25 during a fight with his wife, Rhonda. She has since filed for divorce.
The black Chihuahua mix named Henry suffered permanent damage to its front paws and now limps. As part of the plea agreement, a second charge of animal cruelty was dropped. Prosecutors had accused Vincent of turning a leaf blower on the dog in a separate incident, damaging the dog's eye so badly it had to be removed.
Vincent was ordered to serve two years' probation after his jail sentence, seek anger management therapy, have no contact with his wife or any animals, and get a mental health evaluation.
Salt Lake County prosecutor Elizabeth Henry said Utah is one of nine states that has only misdemeanor punishment for animal cruelty.

I personally don't see much harm in it (as you're all stoned anyway). Just remember to take the back exit whenever you fill the main portal with a condensation bear, kay?

Deserves the death penalty more than Saddam!?!?!??!
What this guy did is terrible, but isn't even close to as bad as the attrocities Saddam committed. Frankly, IMO, the title of this thread is an insult to the victims of Saddam's murderous regime....

Aiding Al Qaeda? Iraq was a secular government and Al Qaeda favors religious rule. Saddam and Al Qaeda were enemies.
Killing his own people? Evidence suggests Iran gassed the Kurds as an act of war, and in any event, the US Government has killed more Iraqis than Saddam's regime ever did.

You know what I found interesting about Saddam. He was able to keep peace in Iraq, probably because he made everyone afraid of him. Now that Saddam is not ruling, we truely see how the Iraqi people are. They are killing each other sunni vs ****tes vs kurds. Maybe Saddam was good for keeping peace,jmo.

Maybe he did those atrocities for a good reason. To scare people from revolting. Look at it now, a heck of a lot more Iraqis dying now from war.

200 degrees? Can't even brown a dog at 200 degrees. Gotta be at least 350 to cook fido all the way through. Once he stops barking, (usually about 30 minutes depending on size) check him to see if the meat is white and juicy. If he's still pink in parts, throw him back in for another 10 minutes or so. Goes good with a nice white wine.

repo? what you fail to realise is that the Bush propaganda machine has now "converted" hundreds of thousand of otherwise decent human beings who are "overstuffed with righteousness"... they truly beleive they have the right and honor to "do the right thing" no matter who they have to kill to do it....
usually? these people have no clue about how other cultures live.. they,(like Bush) have often never traveled outside their own country... and? they usually think "poor americans" deserve their plight, while poor foreigners are suffering at the hands of another, "evil oppressor"...

You know, there are those that want to weigh the evil of various sicknesses and campagn for the rest of us to join in their personal sicknesses and hate.
I have heaard of some killings (both of humans and of animals) that I thought may have been the best outcome of seriously bad situations.
I have heard of the opposite.
BUT....
I have never seen any situation where killing or hating to appease the personal taste of some that have all the answers ever solved anything.
Evil is evil. It doesn't come in gradations or flavors or valuations.
Most of those evils seen by those so eager to punish in order to correct their vision are not evils........they are sicknesses.
