Amazing!

Not the clip. That's sort of boring.

But that someone could create a thread with a name like, " Bill O'Reilly kicks Bill Maher's ass.", implying that O'Reily had somehow "bested" Maher (for what purpose?), when in fact is is 100% not either person even accidentally overshadowing the other, let alone trying.

AMAZING!

As much as I'm a liberal Democrat... ive' never been a fan of Michael Moore though he does make good points from time to time.. but he just reminds me of O'Reilly.. a bully who does so merely for ratings and makes you wonder if they even believe what they say...

Im a Maher fan myself....you remember the first couple of episodes last season when he was actually praising Bush.... Saying things like "I think he might have got it right in Iraq"....even going as far as calling the guy a genius with the long term goal in mind.

I love the epsiodes when he gets a real conservative on there that knows what they're talkin about and shuts him the F__K up. Chris Hitchens did a good job this season.

Other than that the guy is hysterical

The problem with Michael Moore is that he offers no answers, no intelligent path to solutions. Any fat-ass with money and connections can do what Michael Moore does. He's a whiny, effeminate lard who just wants to complain and moan about stuff that bothers him.

He'll take those $50,000 speaking gigs so he can rant and rave about America, but he offers no credible solutions. That's what really bothers me the most about Moore and people like him (i.e. Hannity, Anne Colter, Al Franken, etc.)

I never thought Moore was there trying to find solutions.

His whole effort on everything is to puncture the "baloons" and let the hot air out so people can see it's just exactly that, hot air to hide lies.

He points out the places that need correction, so that people can start asking what are the solutions.

I give him that, but, actually, I don't much care for his techniques, though, as I say, I accept he knows were to find the liars and how to display they are what they are..

I think it's pretty clear that the youtube video in question is in response to "Olbermann kicks Bill O'Reillies ass" (and yeah, i gave up on the spelling there). Or maybe it was someone else was that kicked his ass, regardless, it was someone who kicked his ass.

The talk was a pretty decent one - I think Bill Maher held himself right. It's more correct to say that there is little difference between Kerry and Bush. On Iraq: - Kerry had no plan, nor does Bush, but Kerry wanted to hold a summit for many countries to try to figure out a solution to the problem. (difference)

On prescription drugs - Kerry was in favor of letting drugs in from Canada - Bush is not - they're "not safe"

Education - Bush had his underfunded program no child left behind. Kerry had a plan to substantially reduce the cost of college loans, and other programs to make college more accessible to people who would have a hard time paying for it. (Bush meanwhile has cut many programs, such as head start and so forth... not to mention there was a bill not long ago to not increase funding for any domestic program, accounting for inflation it amounted to a 10% reduction in funding).

So they were not identical on the issues. Kerry did a piss poor job of articulating himself, and Bush didn't say much other than what he has said and throw mud, so.. yeah, it'd be hard to draw a distinction.

Maher stuttered at times, but that was probably cause he was slightly stoned and was speaking about very emotional issues.

I did not see Reilly comment about Maher's comments on Bush's pork barrel spending, subsidies, tax cuts...

Now years later - O'Reilly's biggest thing was that he said he saw the number's that Bush wanted to spend on education. Well sadly no child left behind was/is grossly underfunded.

On top of it all, we are now facing bankruptcy as a country, legitimately (according to Greenspan if the total debt hits about 11-12 trillion we will not have a budget left to pay anything other than interest! My memory may be partially faulty on that, he may have suggested that once it hits 11-12 trillion it will be at a critical mass where it could easily spiral to 14 trillion at WHICH point we could no longer pay it back (accounting for reasonable economic growth..))

Why is it that Bush supporters continuously berate liberals for problems that Bush caused in the first place?

Shouldn't you be demanding some solutions from Bush?

Still - does it help anything to insult the person trying to point out a problem? Awareness of a problem is a very good first step in the path of solving it.

I think its hilarious reading the posts between you guys. Sheer comedy from the frustrations of daytrading and MM bullch1t.

BTW, hate Bush junior, one of our worst presidents ever his record speaks for itself. Loooved Reagan, love Clinton, and Guilliani for Presidente. I like his gansta (original NYC baby), and even though he's Republican, he knows how to separate good politics from the Christian religious bullch1t that our low IQ president Bush so often gets mixed up in.

I've voted both ways but I sure as hell didn't vote for W the second time. And if I see a Dem out there thats better than Guilliani I'll vote for him instead. I'm only interested in whats good for the country, not one party or another. Continue the comedy guys I need to laugh my azz off while I daytrade. [Big Grin]
