The Tigers slapped around the Yankees. The Yankees were supposed to have the best lineup of all time. Give me a break. I guess George will increase his payroll from 200 MIL to 300 MIL. It doesn't matter if they have no pitching. Joe Torre hasn't won a World Series in six years with that lineup. He should and will be fired for Lou Pinella.
Goodbye Yanks. It's nice to see you go.

its a sad day for us yankee fans and those who bash the yankees are only jealous that their team doesnt put forth more of a winning attitude and comitment like the mighty NEW YORK YANKEES!...go ahead and bring up our payroll for the basis of your arguments but i bet the family dog that you would love for your team to pay out as much as my team does. congrats to the detroit tigers

Just nice to see that all the money in the world still can't make the best team. I was sorry to see the Twins go but after their lack luster performance in game 1 and 2 I wasn't suprised. All I can say now is GOOOOOOOOOO TIGERS. They've had a great year and they deservr it.

I think Torre is done, what's worse,. He will get picked up in a small market club, but the problem is, he hasn't managed for years. With that many egos on one team, the players did what they wanted to, there was no managing involved. I don't even know if Torre is a good manager and neither does the rest of the world.
