Is that a version of the little electric car that Zap is marketing?
I like the idea of electrics, with the motors reversed to serve as brakes and generators, but it's with the electricity provided principally via fuel cells that the things can actually reclaim the environment.

Are you talking about the Smart car? They're a daughter company of Mercedes if I'm not mistaking. This car?
They've existed in Europe for quite some time but I know only now they're coming over to the States, I wasn't sure if maybe you were talking about this one

I'm crazy about the Smart Roadster though! With a tuning by Brabus these cars are awesome. Low fuel consumption, only a 700cc engine but it accelerates pretty well. (my friend and I won against an Audi A4 3.0 till 60mph, then he passed us lol, I think that's not bad for a 0.7 engine)
I don't know if they're shipping those Smarts to the States though

"...once this car gets on the market oil will be primitive..."
No, even if we had all transportation free from dependence on oil, it will still be in heavy demand.
Where do you imagine that we get the "makings" of all the plastic that has replaced about everything they can. There isn't much that you depend on today that could exists without plastic. Almost all plastic has coal or petroleum as its basic raw material.
Being reasonable (or rational....you choose), we need to stop burning it up to go to the grocery store, so that the cost of packaging for groceries ( and how many other things) will go down rather than up.
