UH????? so Israel has the right to exist, and hezbolah has the right to terrorise Israel?...

Following World War II, the British withdrew from their mandate of Palestine, and the UN partitioned the area into Arab and Jewish states, an arrangement rejected by the Arabs. Subsequently, the Israelis defeated the Arabs in a series of wars without ending the deep tensions between the two sides. The territories occupied by Israel since the 1967 war are not included in the Israel country profile, unless otherwise noted.

the land was basically desert.... Israel has built it up

the Arabs have never accepted what could have been in their own best interest... Peace has been available for years

First thing first, there was no hezbollah before isreal occupied lebanon.. it might be a terrorist organisation in our eyes, but in lebanon, its a resistance, the same way resistance had been operating in iraq (i am not talking about religion based fanatics in iraq, but about patriotic resistance movement).. and it was mutual.. isreal never returned POW's after end of war.. it kept its drones flying over lebanon.. it kept attacking hizbollah every now and then.. targeting them abroad and within lebanon.. and hezbollah kept up its ante to return the remaining part of land occupied by isreal.

RM....
as far as i'm concerned? Palestine/Palestinins have/has been a political playtoy of the REST the Arab world and Iran (Iran is NOT Arab) for 50 years...

the Palestinian Authority was one of the most corrupt organisations ever....

Arafat? when he died? everybody said Bush's plan will now succeed...
instead? there have been terrorists (hamas) elected to office... Arafat was a terrorist himself....

these terrorists set up charities... put poor people in BAD places... then force Israel to attack them...

hezbolah set a trap when they kidnapped those soldiers... they destroyed the most advanced tank on the planet with it...

hezbolah gets funding from Iran... Iran wants Nukes... that's why this is happening right now...

yes, poor people are pawns in the game...

yes, it's hard to say live and let die....

but? if you really think Israel could lay down their arms and live for a week? you are not well...

Israel has only ever taken what they needed to survive...

glass, agree with you on iran. iran is nothing in common with rest of mid east. they are of persian descent, whereas others are of arab descent. Actually iran was working against remaining arab countries during early 1900's, and probably, the only country which stood as an independent country, despite its neighbours, distributed between other european powers (lebanon et al by france and iraq et. al. by britain).. rise of fundamentalists in iran, can in a way be dated back to misfired US policy when the west supported saddam and worked hard to topple the shah.

Well, in a democracy, people will vote to a political entity which they beleive can give them hope of security, and better lives. palestinian people are in so much despair that even knowingly, they decided to turn to a terrorist like hamas, rather than a moderate like abbas. like the way i said earlier, it is their despair which drives their decisions. bush didnt have a mideast plan then, neither does he have a mideast policy now. i seriously doubt if he knew where iraq was on maps, before he actually decided to attack it. atleast 8 out of 10 of my friends didnt know where iraq was when we were recently discussing about world affairs recently.

hezbollah gets funding and weapons from iran and other mideast nations. isreal gets funding and weapons from US. the reason why war is disproportionate between the two is, while one country provides most sophisticated weapon systems to the world to one side, the other side only receives antiquated weaponry systems, which have very limited ability to make any real impact.

Hell... We should stop all foreign aid to all mideast countries, stop selling/giving weapons to all mideast countries, remove our troops from all mideast countries... and let them fart around about some crappy desert land. Then if they try to F*** with us again just go in and wipe them all out.

I think Government leaders should be forced to fight for their own agendas. Wouldn't that be great?

I can just see Bush out there, weeping and shivering in some foxhole; surrounded by a big puddle of his own urine.
