Not for hunting or anything, strictly as a pet. Our neighbors (not the lesbians) bought one of those thousand dollar designer dogs that when full grown might weigh 10 pounds. Their method of "training" it is to take it to Doggy Day Care for about 25 bucks a day, then two training classes a week to teach it basic commands and to acclimate it to other dogs. The dog is the meanest, most undisciplined little bas-tard I've ever known. Is it just me or is this ridiculous?

I've raised three dogs and it's always been through firm discipline when it screws up and a good rub on the chops when it does good. I've tried to tell them this but they look at me like I'm an unenlightened slob. One of these days that little rat of a dog of theirs is going to turn into a chew toy for mine, I can see it happening and I'm gonna love it.

How do you stop a dog from humping your leg?

my experience is pretty much the same, dogs are physical animals....
they have a strong pack mentality and in the pack? they don't cut each other no slack...
you are either the leader or NOT...
those little dogs are usually a problem IMO too... my aunt is a miracle worker with them and she's very gentle.. so who knows what's right in every situation...

true story...my friend had a pit bull(go figure) and im talking real deal, HUMONGOUS head and ripped. The dog was nice alot of the time(as long as you didnt go near his food, or the garbage pail for some reason) but the dog seemed a little off from time to time. he would just zone out and stare at you and get a little growl going...FOR NO APPARANT REASON. Then one day me and my buddy were playing PS1 madden football and i was abusing him with the Jets. My friend got all pissed after i scored on him and threw the controller. Well for some reason TANGO just came over and locked onto his leg then my friend traded his arm for his leg. All this while i was making gravy in my boxers. Good thing his mother was there she came in and grabbed the dog by the choker and threw it in the feuer (ONLY EXIT). the dog was flippin. sounded like a grizzly was trying to get in. We had to call the brother(his dog) and an ambulance. He was in the hospital for a month. After all was said and done Tango was put down and my friend to this day is missing a nice chunk of his calf muscle and has a scar from wrist to elbo on top and bottom to go along.

the attack was brief, maybe 15 seconds but seemed like an eternity.

Up..I have allot of dogs...but mine are not those little designer things...and with the larger breeds...if you are going to do more than keep it at home...yeah..you should socialize it...going to those "obedience" classes are more for the human than the dog...

but with those little dogs...forget it..nothing you can do...they are just plain lil'chits!

Train your DOG like a woman trains a MAN! LOL!
You give when they are good and take away when they are bad.
Very simple!
