Okay, then. For the sake of your argument, which Bible version is correct? King James, New International, New American Standard, or New World Translation? How about the one that portrays women as equals, or The book of Mormon? Maybe The Satanic Bible? (Just to name a few.)

Hell, how about the Harley Davidson Bible?

This is, without a doubt, one of the silliest arguments I've ever read.

That's correct, glassman.

By the way, what the hell is a "Republican" these days, anyway? Can anyone tell me that?

Eurica Gordon. Now you are getting the picture. Very little difference between Republicans and Democrats nowadays.
I've been saying that for the last few days here. Or maybe that was another thread. Well I said it somewhere.

I've had the picture since around the 2000 "Election."

I'm a little surprised that no one can tell me what their party supposedly stands for, however.

And it's the republicans that are the hateful one's?
And we are to believe that
you are tollerant and open minded?

Many republicans feel they are more Godly than democrats.
Many democrats feel they are morally superior to republicans, more caring.
Both are full of it. The overwelming majority of both parties members are very similar people. Sorry BD dems can't claim to be tollerant. You can't have it both ways, claiming tollerance than running around calling half the population nazis. I can't think of a much more hateful thing to say than comparing people to Nazis and Hitler.
Dems do it all the time.

Oh I will grant you one thing, Rush is fat. But I think we can agree on one more thing, Michael Moore is too!

Liars: WMDS

insulters: Coulter

fat: Limbaugh

doper: Limbaugh

hateful: Coulter, Limbaugh, Chaney, etc.

dishonest: Bush, Chaney, Rumsfeld, Libby, etc.

Goose stepping and Der leader is what they republicaans want us to do when they supply us with lies about WMDs and Saddam having direct ties to al Qaeda...they want us to snap to and salute the leader, right or wrong.

uncourteous: Any of the republican spokesmen/women when someone else on a radio or tv show is answering a question and doesn't accept the republican hype on the question. They yell, interrupt, and are rude beyond anything acceptable. Or are you so steeped in the hype you don't notice?

without manners: see above

"Many republicans feel they are more Godly than democrats." And frequently shout at you that they and only they have the ear of jesus and god. And if you don't immediately accept that they are, they will yell at you and call you names. Yes they are arrogant.

"Many democrats feel they are morally superior to republicans, more caring." Yes, because seldom does a day go by that republicans, en masse, don't call disadvantaged people unspeakable thang and declare them to be unfit to be Americans. And then they call anyone that doesn't condemn those kind of people, in chorus with the DNC, quite derogatory names too.

"Both are full of it. The overwelming majority of both parties members are very similar people." There is some truth here.

The republican party is a modern version of the Nazi party, demanding the same obedience to party over country and turning the courts and the government over to corporations. I point to Benito Mussolini's explanation of facism: It would better be called corpratism, for all facism is is turning the functions of government over to the corporations. It's a matter of the altering the function of gvernment to comply with the republican's model of what they want the government to be. Yes, it's evil, just as it was almost a century ago. If you don't like the comparison, then stop fostering similar ideals and actions.

very true- the line between republicans and democrats has never been so thinly drawn, thus the definition of each becomes harder to state.

But just because someone doesn't toe the republican party line doesn't make them a democrat. You are showing a terribly limited and intollerant vision of political positions and activities.

It isn't your beliefs you started talking about, but mine....and you were not exactly tollerent and no where near correct in your assumptions. You seem to think it is ok to make broad assumptions about others and it is ok. Sorry, but that is insulting.

I am NOT categorizable and have no desire to live the life or have the thoughts you wish to imagine I do. It is a very common trait or habit of the politically set.

wait, homosexuality is still an issue worth argueing about in 2006? lol those silly christians, why does it not surprise me [Smile] look, no one should ever get their "worldly knowledge" from a book that was written 2000 years ago by MAN. Instead of creating your moral system from a 2000y old book, go out and meet people with an open mind. Get to know the world a little more and you'll see that there's all kinds of people out there, good and bad ones, and you'll see that one's sexuality won't matter anymore since good and bad guys are everywhere, you really don't need a book to know that.

I have gay friends who are great people and 2 of them were "rejected" by christian people (friends/family) on christian principles, because of their sexuality, as if one's sexuality is much more important than a good heart and personality, and that is WRONG. You like and accept someone into your life because of how they are, their personality, a good heart, etc, not because of what sexuality this person was born with, it doesn't matter

BD-
You say this:
"That tendency of the republicans to lump anyone that disagrees with their dogma into one pot is insulting. "
Then you go on to lump 90% of Republican party liners in the statement below.
"No! No one on any side is as hate filled as 90% of the current republican crew of Party line liars and insulters. Fat Rush the Doper, O'Reilley, Coulter, etc., etc., etc., from are not just hateful and dishonest, they are rude and insulting......constantly!. "

And you follow that up with this jewel:
" Yes, because seldom does a day go by that republicans, en masse, don't call disadvantaged people unspeakable thang and declare them to be unfit to be Americans. And then they call anyone that doesn't condemn those kind of people, in chorus with the DNC, quite derogatory names too."

I think the Republicans en masse line
is particularly general wouldn't you agree?

I too am guilty of generalizing, I'm sure. I think we all do that. Another fault I admit. Oh and I admit I'm bald too, damnit! Oh and I'm short. 3nough of my faults, I'm starting to depress myself.

I'm a little late to this party, but I just want to make a couple of points on how to distinguish between a democrat and a republican.....

A Republican is a politician that blames the democrats for everything that's wrong.

A Democrat is a politician that blames the republicans for everything that's wrong.

There!....now that's settled

OK, I'll try again, but I have to give both sides of the argument.

A Republican is someone who thinks Al Franken and Michael Moore are about as humerus as fingernails scraping down a chalkboard.

A Democrat is someone who thinks that George W. Bush creates hurricanes.

On a more serious note, I'm sure you are aware that you can't define a republican any more then you could define a democrat, or any person affiliated with any other party, on an individual basis, since everyone as an individual has their own unique views that may, or may not, overlap people from their own party, or even people from other political parties. But on a broad scale I would categorize the republicans as having a history of less taxes and smaller government although IMO the smaller government tag doesn't seem to apply these days. Oh....and I'm not a republican, although I do agree with them on far more issues then I do the democrats.

I'm sorry, this link will give a much better answer as to what republicans are than I could come up with! Although these are some of the dirtiest republicans I could find, so don't judge them all by the deeds of these few.

I think gay sex is likely a sin. I support my gay friends.

I think extra marital affairs are a sin. I suppport my friends who are having marital troubles.

I think premarital sex is a sin and I was found wanting just like most o the rest of you. [Smile]

It is not for me to judge my neighbors. It is not for me to tell others what is right and what is wrong.

It is my duty to treat my neighbors with kindness and compassion and allow Christ to work with them as HE sees fit...not as what fits my agenda or worldview.

36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

What was God's original plan? He made mankind in his image(jesus) and wanted them to multiply. The last time I checked two men can't create new life. It's all about God's will and what he wants us to do. I have yet to meet a man that said, while in prayer, God told me to make this man my companion. But here's something to think about. After Adam and Eve sined, Everything changed. They no longer had dominion over the animals and so on. Humans are now the fallen race(the only species from any planet that has sined.) So it's possible that some people had children throught incest(a bad sin) and created children with genetic defects. Just like cancer, obesity, diabetes. There are many sicknesses that were not in God's origianl plan and homosexualality can be one of those. Death is the worst. Man would have lived for ever. An interesting fact is that after the flood god allowed mankind to eat meat(origianl diet was vegetarian) and from there, man's life expectancy dropped dramaticly. So in conclusion, I think it's very likely that some people are born gay. Not in god's original plan. Just like it wasn't in god's original plan for people to be born sinners, retarded, autistic ect. It's the result of sin going back to the fall of Man.

That's a good point, Penny Pimp....Mabey Homosexuals are born Gay, like you say, as a result of sin. I agree, It was not in GOD's origianl plan, but was caused as a result of the sins that are recorded in the bible, just like everything else that isn't good.
