Well, if Bush cannot have his wide open American borders, to anyone and everybody, switch focus to gay people.
I noted through news, suddenly, Mexicans are attending English classes and, just as suddenly paying taxes.
How hypocritical. No interest in learning English, no interest in paying taxes, until they are faced with deportation.
A lot of Californians became really pissed off watching Mexicans, during recent protests, waving Mexican flags. No American flags, only Mexican flags. Upon critque, suddenly Mexicans began waving American flags.
Such hypocrisy.
During the one day protest back in May, traffic on highways and roadways was less than one-half of the usual. People could drive sixty-five on freeways instead of twenty-five.
I went down to Home Depot. I did not have to dodge Mexicans out in the street, no Mexicans running up my car sticking their faces through my window, no Mexicans wanting to help me load lumber, for money.
Just like the old days, peace and quiet, no fear of wild men surrounding your car, walking up to you in the parking lot, peace and quiet.

I think you missed the point. dubya wasn't truthfully advocating sanctions on employers that hire illegals, even if that is what the words he used seem to be aimed at.
Imbedded withing all that talk about punishing those that employ illegals was what dubya is really after. Note that his "method" of assuring that the non-conforming employers were forced to comply was not the punishment, but the issueing of non-tamperable ID cards to the "guest workers. (When are these fools going to learn that anything they can build or design will be overcome in short order? Build a fence 30 feet high and they build a 35 foot ladder.....make a perfect ID card and a month later is won't be perfect).
That's the start of what this bunch has been aiming at all along. If all the "guest workers" will have these "perfect" ID cards, how is the employer to tell a normal 100% American from across town is legal? Of course!!!! Issue him a "perfect" ID too. Now we have that in order to work in the Country, you have to have a "perfect" Goverment ID card.
Just how long do you think it will be before the utter convience to cops and firemen and banks and so on and on will generate a call to require that every person in the country have one of these "perfect Government ID cards on his person at all times?
Want to hop a train from Boston to D.C? Right behind the conductor that takes your ticket will be the G-man demanding to see your "papers". While you are having dinner in a resturant that night another G-man or woman will demand to see them too. Then, when the ACLU eventually takes this practice before the Courts, challenging the Constitutionality of the practice, it will be the Party and each of its lemming like adherents (Art, Natural Recources, Westcott, Fat Rush the Doper, Ann Coulter, etc. etc. etc. - - -)that labels anyone objecting to this "necessaary defense to protect us from terrorist" is unpatriotic and needs to be locked up.
Then it won't be hard to train you to slip that card you have to carry all the time through a scanner anytime you buy a quart of whiskey or a pack of spearmint gum or ride the bus to work or send a package to aunt Susan or - - -.
Think the government can't manage to have a computer big enough to keep tabs on where you are and everything you do and don't do all day and all night long? Think again. They already have them scanning your phone calls and emails and they have an experienced group of people running them in the NSA.

i have been using cards to buy 90% or more of what i buy for over ten years.... it's already here.... try traveling "without papers" now.....
can't...
every once in a while? i still ride a bus to go somewhere... i think the last trip i took is the last time tho, they are just too nasty now...
anyway? i had to go a through an ID check and search in Memphis... local cops, looking for dope under the guise of national security... i considered refusing on constitutional grounds and decided not to, based on the fact that the majority of the people going thru the line looked to me like they should be searched for drugs..... the bus station in Memphis is nashteee...
i won't send my kids on a bus ever... but i have always liked to see things for myself... even if the truth is uncomfortable...
on another trip? the INS searched the bus in Ogallala Nebraska ( yeah that's a real place)... they pulled several off my bus... and they had two buses full of "detainees" already... the funny part? INS never checked the bus in CO or Nevada or CA, and it was full of "suspects" again after the next stop just across the CO border.....
Bush doesn't care what "the people" want, he says so every time he's asked about polls....
once again? i can go into any gun shop in my state, and go thru an instant check, already...
the system is already in place, it just needs to be implemented... Bush is in NE today.... they have a lot of illegals working there for corporate entities... let's see what comes out about it tonight?

Good luck to all of us when we demand our constitutional rights IMHO it won't be long before the answer to that will be a rifle butt to your head
