Things are getting out of control... when terrorist nations are allowed to run U.S. ports, and Nation of Islam members are allowed to sit on hate crimes commissions, there's a real problem...

The "announcement" from Warner is a face save for dubya. Warner (he is a pure Party uber alles Republican) is nothing but a mouthpiece for the Administration.....mostly for dubya.

The Toadies! They were never a commercial success, but they just flat out rocked. Sadly, they broke up. A lot of their songs dealt with real life issues like religious abuse and relationships, but their stuff was heavy and catchy.
Which bands do you like from Ft. Worth?

The Texas Playboys were originally formed in Ft. Worth before moving to Waco as the Light Crust Dough Boys and then San Antonio as the Texas Playboys. They (or should I say, Bob Wills) created an variety of music that still "swings". As they sing, "Bob Wills is still the king".

I'm from Georgia originally and not familiar with Wills and his group. Are they rockabilly type stuff?

more technically accurate might be western jazz...
btw, Team, some in Funkytown say that the Toadies' "Possum Kingdom" was...ahem..."inspired" by a song written by the band I used to manage...

So tell me more about this band and the song!
not a huge deal, really; we had a studio and rented space to other bands; one of those bands included a guy who played drums for them for awhile--in their never-ending personnel changes--and he took one of our tapes over there, wherever they sat up. One song was notable for its time-sig changes--in fact, on one cassette we called it "Six Ate for Four," punning on the changes...
Actually, their version was prolly the better song. There was never any talk of legal action or anything, just the way stuff happens in a small community. We made our dough as a cover band, anyway, so it's just a tasty tid-bit of irony...

Todd Lewis had another band after the Toadies called Burden Brothers. I think they are defunct too.
I wonder what Todd's up to these days...
I don't know the song, but I do know Possum Kingdom. It's a large lake to the west of Fort Worth.

Neither Warner nor the company said they are out of it. What they did say is that they would "transfer operation to an American entity". It would be possible to transfer operation while maintaining ownership and control.
Then too, remember, Haliburton and the NY City Mafia are "American entities", as would be a hastilly set up corportion registered in Tennessee or Nevada, with undisclosed owners that, behind the protection of the law, are really the UAE..

The lyrics talk about being at a lake, and a boathouse.... You should check out the song if you can. Might not be your taste in your music, but it's good stuff.
