Why Republicans Suck
The supposed ideology of any good conservative in this country is to limit the power of government in our own personal lives. In the case of Terri Schiavo many conservatives are showing just how much they resemble liberals in their insistence that their values are the only ones that matter and that the government should be involved in all of our personal matters. When one looks at what has happened with the Ten Commandments in public places, gay marriage, and now the Terri Schiavo case, it is clearly evident that the lunatic, religious idiots are taking over the Republican party yet again. It is irrelevant what your own personal beliefs are concerning this issue. What is important here is that the current administration feels the need to step into a matter that needs not concern them.
When exactly did we as Americans give up our right to judge for ourselves what we can do with our lives. I don't need the President or the Congress telling me how and when I can die, or who I can marry, nor do I need to be reminded of all the idiotic evangelicals and their disgusting proselytizing for their dumb superstitions. Please! Enough with the self-righteousness already.

This is why I left the Republican party years ago for the Libertarian party.

Libertarians stand for the most government-less form of government. And for returning the power to the people of each individual state. It's the purest form of government and most closely resembles the intentions of the founding fathers.

Why do you say that?

The extreme Right seems to make up labels for everyone, (like "islamofascist," for example). Your party might be next.

By the way, I agree; the Libertarian Party makes a lot of sense.

I get you... Republicans fear Libertarians because of our logical form of conservatism... like ending the drug war, getting out of Iraq, extreme tax and welfare reform, no school vouchers, no Patriot Act b.s., etc.

I don't agree with all Libertarian platforms, but for the most part, the Libertarian form of government just flat out makes sense.

Just think what we could do with all the billions of dollars we'd save on the worthless drug war... if we pumped that into education we could go along way to erradicating the drug problem...

Isn't Howard Stern the President of the Libertarian Party? If I can remember, he ran for Governor of NY as a Libertarian a few years ago.

No, Stern is not the president of the Libertarian party. He was loosely affiliated with the party when he ran for Gov. The chair of the party is Michael Dixon.

please dont view the republican party as soley G.W.

as a voting republican i feel the party has been hijacked by bush, and as a soldier i feel exploited by bush. the war on terrorism is important, but has been stolen by iraq

It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.

I do agree with you, but I also want to point out that republicans are the ones that made the hijacking work. Without full cooperation wsith the policies of this bunch of crooks, dubya would neverr have been nominated, let alone annointed by the Court.
