The pictures are used to test the level of stress a person can handle.

The slower the pictures move, the better your ability of handling stress.

Alleged criminals that were tested see them spinning around madly;
however, senior citizens and kids see them standing still.

None of these images are animated - they are perfectly still.

If you focus sharply on one point in the pictures they will stop moving. Maybe it has more to do with the ability to focus.

Macd: yup, experiments dating to at least the 70s that I'm aware of...you can effect bio-rhythmic changes (including "mood") according to what you focus on

Focused on a cute little teddy bear while in labor with my daughter......Freakin' lamaze coach said it would work wonders.

Focused for hours.......Didn't do a freaking thing for my mood. LMAO!
