There is a clear precedent for judicial corruption, witness perjury, legal incompetence, the discovery of absolving evidence after the verdict, and many other scenarios.
With life imprisonment, there is a way to correct this kind of injustice.
You can't un-execute someone.

I'm not shifting blame here, so please don't ge me wrong...but let's consider another point of view. There have always been perverts and weirdo's wanting to prey on children. The internet has made that much easier. Probably because of the ease of contacting young people the numbers of would-be perverts coming "out" is growing.
In the past there were general safety guidelines, mostly set by parents..."be home by dark", "call me when you get there", "always walk with a friend", "are their parents home?". I must have heard these millions of times when I was a kid. Where are the friggin parents when it comes to the internet? I think that the popularity and sophistication of the internet has grown so fast among young people that most parents are clueless about the dangers. I hope that the news shows get a lot of attention, because I think a lot of this could be stopped by parents knowing what their children are doing online.
Please don't yell at me for blaming parents, because I'm not. I'm simply saying that "most" parents have no clue what their kids are doing on-line.

Ya know, you can track 'em down on the internet. A coupl of 'em got themselves whacked last year up in Bellingham (WA) by some dud pretending to be a cop. Went right in and bangety bang bang, to child humpers deader' than a door nail. All you gotta do is look 'em up on the ol internet. Figuring out where they live is easy.
