I'd also hate for you to be my wife, but it would be a poetic situation for someone who condones torture to find yourself in.

It's actually a valid question 4art, How do you deal non-violently with a predator that has just broken into your home? Ask him nicely to leave? Or whip out your AR15 and inform him nicely that your favorite sport is getting rid of them pesky prairie dogs at 600 yards?

It means that violent people are more likely to be treated violently themselves. I believe that.

Sooo your saying that there is no such thing as a victom? innocent bystander? People just enjoying non violent lives don't encounter violent acts committed against them? Because I am willing (and able) to defend myself or my own I am more likely to encounter violence? But the question remains what would do? nothing?

I condone "do unto others" As I am a very small person I have encountered in my life, men who have hit me (Trust me only ONCE) men who have tried to take advantage of me. (only tried) I don't run around looking for trouble, I managed 60 truckdrivers for 15 years, They all have excellent opinions of me as a person, and they also know when it comes time to stand up and fight I'll be the one right there with them.

I would just love to live in a peaceful utopia, but the facts are the world is not now, nor ever been a peaceful place to live. Boys will be Boys.

Do you feel this sort of activity helps the war effort? I don't.
I also don't think they saved a single American life by engaging in this.
In fact, I think the particular US Military members responsible for this have got to be mentally sick and probably did it for no reason other than "fun", (or, God forbid, sexual pleasure.)

That's what the jerks in the picture would have made you a picture of if they would of had the chance too.

Given what we now know, being anti-Iraq war is a sign of intelligence, HILANDER.
I assume you are speaking of Christian by Birth, not by practice. Many views which are generally liberal cannot be condoned by a true follower of the teachings of Jesus.

I was disgusted. Here's a reminder. (One of the least offensive pics I could find.)
I wish the stinking Abu Ghraib arguements would die already. War is hell. People make mistakes. And sometimes poeple take matters into their own hands. This should not happen and offenders should be punished.
During the civil war after a battle they would line up the injured of the enemy on the ground and walk down the line and bash them all on the head with a sledge hammer.
I know it's not the same thing, but you won't find a war, conflict, or whatever where some sort of atrocity didn't happen. In the big scheme of things Abu Ghraib probably wasn't as big a deal as we all make it out to be.

Similar to being a Jew by birth. A person born of Jewish heritage, but does not keep jewish tradition or closely follow Jewish Holidays.
I think 80%(could be wrong) I've seen statistics that 80% of the U.S. population claims to be a Christian. My question is...is there any evidence of Christianity in their lives. That's the difference in "Christian by Birth" and a follower of Jesus.

I saw a cool sign once for a hispanic guys landscaping service. It said, "Jesus cares about you...and your lawn." I hired the guy, he was about the funniest dude I ever met. Told him he should be a stand up comic and pursue his other talent.

That's cool. I saw a bumper sticker that said, "Jesus loves you, but everyone else thinks your a real azzhole". That was kinda funny.

I got yelled at once by this little old lady because she didn't like my "god is coming, look busy" sticker in the back window of my truck. Our squadron chaplain thought it was funny when he visited out troop, but apparnetly the little old lady was quite offended.
