Oh, it will be much worse this time. They have shoved through laws allowing people to be secretely arrested and imprisioned now and can, at the whim of the President or the Attorney General (or some near illiterate crony they may designate at will), be denied the guarantees of the Constitution.

I was a small young lad during McCarthyism and it was no joke you could be investigated for no other reason than you had an eastrn europian last name ask the actors and actresses that had to change there names to get employment.Charles Bronson was one of them.

all of my searches show that he was an abysmal failure at actually collecting evidence and catching commies...even tho they were around....he just did a good job of making everybody behave very badly.....
communism is not beaten yet either....China is still communist....
our trade DEFICIT with them from Jan to Aug this year alone is 126 BILLION $$$$ so much for the conservative LEADERS making a great stand agianst the RED enemy in the 21st century...failure.

I guess I don't qualify as a "bubba" since I've had a bit too much academic success to meet the steriotypical requirements, But I am a pickup driving southern gun owner and really can't much stand anything about that Kennedy bunch of New Englanders. (Feel even more negative about the Bush family, because they are disgusting New England carpetbaggers and I have heard truth told, at times, by a Kennedy).
You might wanna be real real real careful trying to lable me at all and your eagerness to brand me a liberal pretty well paints you into the narrow minded wacko far right wing extremist conservative republican camp, ya know. Then you go on and make that ignorant claim to excuse the sins and evil done by one of the most dishonest and dangerous men that ever lived. I hope you might reconsider your damnation?
I hope you won't be offended by the recommendation, since I do not make it with any malice, but before you make too many more silly errors, I think you should do a bit of research on things and go outside the usual right wing sources. McCarthy was not a communist finder, he was merely a charlatan and egomaniac that took advantage of the people's ignorance of and fear of communism to damage those toward whom he held some prejudice. He did enoumous harm to all of America....certainly to many thousands he terrorised and destroyed to bolster his sick ego. (He and Adolph had a lot in common and used many similar techniques to keep the public afraid to interfere.)
There are a great many of us that are NOT pleased that Bush falsified data and information that he presented to Congress in order to get permission to "protect the US from attack by Iraq". We and Congress never authorized him to invade another country to unseat any existing government or to save any people from a tyrant (specially one we are responsible for).
For your information, McCarthy and Bush both were absent from military obligation, while actual brave men were dying for their country, then later lied about their absence. Both men attained position on the basis of lies and fraud and both men have fostered huge damage to mankind, in general, and the United States, in particular. These facts about McCarthy are well documented and accessable to the public. Those about George W. will not be accessable until after he is long dead and the documents he has declared secret (in contradiction to the laws passed by congress and passed into law) are finally overturned.

and i voted democrat the first time in my life last prez election only cuz i realised what was really going on a few months before everybody else.....
we ben hayad.... and i'm pi$$ed.... if we have to choose between Hillary and Rice next election? i'm gonna start asking the south to secede again.... not cuz they are women but because they are both so far out of the center... we are getting to be like a goodyear racing eagle that that threw all of it's balance weights..

That may be correct. The sure aren't what they claim to be. (I keep thinking of the old logic problems of the tribe the never tells the truth.) A couple of things they definitely are not is patriotic and loyal to the Country.
The ones that feel the worst are the honorable Republicans that got suckered into supporting these crooks.

It is very obvious that Mr. Bush serves an elite group of wealthy people.Look at his tax laws and look at his social law.Thease people although there past relatives made there fortunes in this country under different domestic circmstances.They seem to think of themselvs as world citizens and not Americans. But as they do when they get in trouble overseas they cry for Americans to save there investments. To me this is the highest form of treason that there is.
