they'll re-jerrymander the districts again....just like they did in Texas for the last elections....

Rove is prolly already working on how to do it...

Glass....,

A lot of those New Orleans folk have already said they intend to stay in Texas. So the Party has, no doubt, already started working on re-jerrymandering here to "adjust" for these new democrats, i.e., to rig more elections.

I asked guestions about tort reforms.

glass stated OCT 17 new bankruptcies laws kick in...Bad news for thousands of folks cought up in this disaster.

How are people going to seek any kind of safe harbor..

This is not a situation of people going out on a spending binge then pulling a B/K

bush knows the facts show what he really feels about certain classes of people this new orleans sittuation has been a real education to most of america and a national disgrace to boot. bush can start a pr move now like he is buy hugging babies and people but the cat is out of the bag and the testomonials of the victims are going to start to pour out plus his wife already made to many of her condesending comments on the whole affair this will be a mess economicaly, racialy, and socialy. good job of blowing it mr. president since we all have to live in this country and with your dumb decisions. and comments a least learn how to control your wife so she can work on the same plan you are.

Sorry I'm a little behind in this discussion,I don't read this section that much. But going back to Dustoff101 first dicussion. I was in Viet-Nam in 1968 and I did not see the racism. We did have our closer friends, but color was not the factor for most of us. I was in the field most of the time so the conditions were different.

Nam in 1971-1972 was in the middle of Viet Na- ma-zation..

Many of us spent a lot of stand down time in the rear.

Entire Companys would stand down out of the feild at a whim of the basturds in DC.

The racism in the feild and back area's became prevalant in some area's..

Herion was the dirty little secret that few people in the states {We called back in the world} knew anything about..

We were actually ordered out on a sweep of Tiger Mountain in Cam Rahn to flush out the awalls and junkies they thought were colaberating with Charlie.

Black on white and vice versa violence became a common occurance, we basicly had a breakdown in command.

Officers and NCO'S were fragged over nothing.

I was in four fire fights, and while not trained 11bravo myself and others found ourselves in many differant TDA'S..We had a shortage of grunt's and just about everyone else except cooks.

Dustoff 101 your situation was different. I was also in a different unit, I was with the 1/7 Cav. I wish I could have spent more time in the rear. The real only training you needed to be an 11 bravo in Viet Nam was to know how to fire a weapon, which we learned in basic training and to duck, it was also a good idea to listen to the guys that had been there awhile. This statement is off the subject, but doesn't the SEC. remind you alot of the veterans administration in the way they handle things, and I am not saying that in a positive way.

1/7 Cav !! right on man. 68 was probably the most causuality taking year.

You really have my respect and I mean it.
Most Americans have NO IDEA what the Cav. went thru and how many lives the Dustoff crews saved, or under what heroic conditions they saved those lives.

Most you guys deserve The Congressional Medal of Honor, but I'll bet you don't feel that way.
The first Dustoff crews I saw in action came in with the Cav.

The VA? bad deal when I first got back from Nam..

But later when I got big time sick, exsposure to Dioxin, So-called Agent Orange. They saved my life.

SEC? hey Dude, lock an load full auto. LOL

Sorry Dustoff101 I should have been more specific when talking about the VA. I was actually talking about the disibility claims that they are taking up to 7 years to make decisions on after all the appeals. The medical part of the VA. has gotten a lot better, its just to bad they keep cutting back in the budget for the medical and keep bringing back more casualties from Iraq and Afgan. Remember the good old days when we were young and dumb.

My one buddy just told me the other day that his medical bill are finally going to be 100% covered by the Government. He was in Nam and has experienced all sorts of problems from his exposure to agent orange. He's gotten Diabetes, had a stroke, and major back problems along with back surgeries over the years. He just found out about a month ago that the Gov. will pick up all his bills regarding these problems, and also pay him to retire early due to his disabilties. They're going to pay him anywhere's between 40% -100% of his current monthly take home pay. He's still waiting to find out the exact percentage that he will be recieving for his monthly checks. He has a few other problems as well, but I can not remember them. He's going to be entering early retirement sometime next year. He's got 20 yrs retirment from IBM coming to him as well as retirement coming from his current place of employment once he retires.

I hope that all you Vets out there get your disability checks and can take early retirement as well if you haven't all ready. I know that my buddy is finally starting to rest a bit easier knowing that his medical expenses will all be paid for. Thank You for your sacrifices and service, even though I was not alive then. You deserve your propers, I only wish that you all got them when you came home from the War.

Many proud Vets are pitching in,
even with severe disabilities..

Many other Vet's are homeless and without proper medical care in the disaster zone.

Yep, they seem to of committed a kind of Social suicide.

But, remember that the Hells Angels was formed by WW 2 Vets that just couldn't conform back into society after what they went thru in WW2.

The shear rush of adrenelin and fear associated with combat never leaves a Vet.

When I speak of fear I speak of using it to a persons advantage..This in my case created the problem of how do I top the last high of beating fear.

After awile sometimes a guy just doesn't feel or think fear anymore.

Many of the original Hells Angels Motorcycle gang were WW2 fighter pilots and Officers.

I have some friends who still ride, but Middle age has sure slowed um down.

What a bad situation for the homeless from Katrina. The homeless problem in this country in general sucks. At one point several years ago more than half the homeless were Vietnam Veterans now you can add Iraq and Afgan. to the population. Now in a few cases thats where they wanted to be, but not most of them. At least we can make sure they have food, especially since we send billions of dollars worth of aid out of this country.

This not a good situation for all Americans.

The Penal system is like the Hilton Hotel out here on the west coast to many of the hard core criminals that are faning out all over the country.

wow, you mean we should actually be prepared and think for ourselves?

Hey I didn't know Corky was even around anymore.

I actually surfed with him back in 69 at Steamers Lane at Santa Cruz Calif.

He is a goofy foot like me..[ Right Foot forward ]

Left Breaks are a natural for both of us..

Hawaii's Pipeline on Oahu's North Shore was a natural for me..It's a radical Left break..

Hey man, I surfed in Nam, the South China Sea has some killer Beach and Reef Breaks..

There are Point Breaks that have never probably been surfed..
