I guess it will conveniently go down on Tuesday, after Labor Day. The big oil companies not only get the tax breaks, they get to gouge.....

Have you been in a coma?
The oil fields near and offshore are down, and refineries are off line.

Looters are stepping over bodies while looting the homes of the dead.

Nanny, we need to focus on the real and present dangers at hand.

Some looters are desperate for food and water for they're families...

MOST OTHERS definately are not looting for ANY justifiable reason..

Guard and police should be allowed to go weapons free on looters. I know I would.

While listening to reports of looting today while on job-site, I was thinking about them somehow cutting you loose, Hilander [Big Grin] Wouldn't mind a piece of that action, myself...

Food looters, including survival supplies--who cares? That's just folks taking care of themselves, putting less strain on the rescue system...more power to em. Especially if there's any fresh food left to rescue before it goes bad...

Oh, and gas? Paid 2.72 on the way to the job this morning. Come home and my neighborhood store is at 2.99...
But jewelery, electronics, etc...c'mon

That's a great idea for a video game.

We'll call it:

Looting for survival, (food, water, dry clothes, etc.), is not a problem. I'd do it myself.

Looting for TVs, DVDs, etc? That's despicable.

Me? I'd get a boat...and start delivering supplies or cutting roofs open so anybody alive could get out. Canoe maybe with gas unavailable...course, I'd leave a note, too, but then I'm weird like that

HILANDER: LOOSE IN THE BAYOU

My thought for a game would be to give Hilander a weapon, say and ak or glock so he could take out the looters. It'd be an action game, kind of like Grand Theft Auto or something to that effect where he could ultimately do whatever he wanted until his missions were complete.

I had better get a patent before someone steals my idea.

The glock has sentimental value only to our character in the game. I think Hilander understands where I am coming from when I mention a glock.

All games give the player the least powerful weapons first silly.

Ahhh...well then, start with nothing...the hero is forced into action with no weapons and must build up as per "Enter the Dragon."

Silly me, I thought the point was to send Hilander character armed as per his choice in "real life."

I can see I got a lotta learn about these games...still, a great idea

A glock, great. That means I gotta let 'em get within 25 feet. Actually, I've seen video of a fully automatic glock. Looks funny though. Big 'ol 30 rnd mag sticking out of the grip. But I'd start with one of those.....I guess.........if I had to.

Well, to be honest I'd much rather go in with an equipped M4. Ya know, rail system, AN/PEQ 2 (or 4), rail mounted sure fire, ACOG, oh, and a nice set of PVS 14's to use with the PEQ 2 (0r 4).

but *did* assume a glock would not be a weapon of choice for you guys...

Highlander, have you hugged your 40mm blupper today..
M-60's need luv to.
Auto-grenade launchers on a 16 can really make a fellers day as well.
Claymores can always help in the shut eye department.
But man, there is nothing better than the aroama of Naplam at sunrise.
Hey, a lovely quad anti-aircraft 50cal can always wake up the boys in the morning as well.

OK Tex here ya go....
M4...Carbine version of an M16, shorter barrell, collapsable stock.

ACOG...Reflex Sight/Scope with reticle that looks like this ^. Kind of like a small scope.

Rails...Replace handguards to provide mounting points for goodies.

AN/PEQ 2 or 4.....IR lazers, only visible with Night vision. I laze you and you don't even know it.

Sure Fire....Very very very very bright flashlight that can be mounted on the rails like the PEQ 2's and 4's.

AN/PVS 14, night vision monocle, only covers one eye. Can be mounted behind the ACOG to make it an IR scope.

Basically that's what carried or had in Iraq. It was a pretty sweet set up.

Oh and a forwrd pistol grip mounted to the bottom rail about halfway down the front of my weapon.

thanks, Hi, somehow I get most of that...

although, thought M16 is a carbine? Only carbine I've been around much is 6mm. Great in close brush...quick, light, but decent ballistics... As I said, no military experience for me, and would never pose as such...

Hell at this point I am ready to try anything.

Help Gas Prices Get back down

I hear we are going to hit close to $3.00 a gallon by the summer.
Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent,
united action Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea:

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day"
campaign that was going around last April or May!
The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't
continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of
an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever
thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is
super cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.75 for regular unleaded in my
town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have
conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at
$1.50-$1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that
BUYERS control the marketplace.... not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need
to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas
come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing
their gas!

And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.
But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to
force a price war. Here's the idea:

For the rest of this year, DON"T purchase ANY gasoline from the two
biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are
not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If
they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow
suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon
and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp
(sic) out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how
simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it
to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at
least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) .. and so on, by the time the
message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached
over THREE MILLION consumers!

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends
each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one
level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!
Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people and DON"T
purchase ANY gasoline from EXXON and MOBIL. That's all.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to
ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people
could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you
didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting
together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND
KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK

--------------------
Damn, if he wasn't right.

Thousands of buses lined up outside of New Orleans. It appears the drivers are afraid to come into town now because no one can control the mobs. News media have been told to get out of town before dark.

Disgusting.

Well Art, that's just my guess. I can only imagine the ACLU lawsuits if it ever did happen. "Well, if they didn't want to be shot at, they shouldn't have been flying armed helos. You infringed on so and so's civil rights because you shot him when he shot at you. You knew he was going to miss, so why did you shoot back?"

That sounds about right, sadly. But to let a single person die for fear of negative PR like that is despicable.
