btw, maybe never posted this, but you're a 5-star as far I'm concerned. You do great work on this board, and I appreciate it and I know dozens of others do, too...

'tain't me!!

I never quite bothered to learn how. And to tell the truth, I only am guessing when I decide that more stars are better. If that is the case and I was in charge, you'd always have a full complement, because you do a great job.

it's easy: click on the person's handle to your left. That brings up a page where you can see "recent posts"; "rate this member"; some other stuff, date joined, etc. The ratings is a pull-down menu. on mine? select 5 stars then click on "rate this member" [Big Grin]

actually, I *do* enjoy having a high rating, but more important, I'd like the person who dinged me to step up and articulate whatever the problem is...

thanks, bdgee, I enjoy your posts, too...

you guys are funny...lol x 2

I think Dusty hit it--you ever notice how that gang o thugs is sooo jealous of anyone with high ratings? weird...but even weirder has been the recent phenomonenon of sparkly new handles with 2 posts and 3 votes for highest rating...hmmm--that's damm good posting!

What got my goat yesterday was it was so pleasant, lots of give and take, just a nice, casual Saturday with no drama...then pop, somebody dings me...

Well, I just thought maybe I had offended somebody without any idea of who or why, so started this thread as a way to talk about it. Obviously, no one had a big enough issue to post...so, too bad. Oh, well, hope today is as good as yesterday in terms of good info...man, we had some great posts yesterday: good DD, some dynamite picks, and friendly visits, too.

Best to all...

oho, been wondering who's been dinging me during an otherwise unusually productive weekend for DD and newbie edu topics. Think it's becoming clear: some here do not like light shed on scams and problems in the market or taking part in trader education...

too too bad--there's a bunch of folks here who realize the worth of this board and help out all they can. Scamsters should not expect that to change anytime soon.

Good luck trading this week, everybody...

BT- I certainly know the feeling. SInce I have joined this board, I always make an effort to post with educated flare from research that I am confident in. However, I have no qualms about asking questions that I am not sure about and bang what do ya know? a two star rating, for what I am not sure...

I have had great fun with this board and learned a lot from you guys. Though I have noticed the majority of the members seem to have overly large egos on their knowledge of the game...

I can only keep to what I am doing and that is making money, whether it be 100s of dollars a day or a few thousand. In that I try to share.

So thanks to all, and BuyTex you have always put in lamens terms that I am able to understand. You are one of my favorites to follow.

The trouble with most of us is we never have sat down and talked to a real live brain surgeon. No doubt, it requires very steady nerves and very specific knowledge about the object they "surg", But sit and have an in dept conversation with one on topics other than his specialty and you'll discover something.

For most of us a carburator mechanic works on a thing ("surges"?) that requires a very special ability and knowledge. Ya jest can't keep up with the guy on that topic. Now, talk to him about history or chemistry or whatever and he might not have such and edge, Brain surgeons, off topic, don't come off a such geniouses either. Nor to "rocket scientist" or any other group of specialist. They all did hard work to get to where they are and it should be admired, but they very likey are not brighter than the members of any other group.

Now you ask, righty so, what in the devil does this have to do with this thread and Tex's stars? Nary a d--ned thing, but it is a though process I've had.

Next? Are you into things like how many rational numbers there are? I've thought a bunch about that. Then theres the problem of how long it takes the water to get from the dino tracks at Glen Rose to the public water supply of San Antonio and how to determine that. I believe there is now enough data to show that the equilibrium in the upper athmosphere between carbon-12 and carbon-14 has been alterred by the burning of wood and fossil fuels so as to throw a lot of data based on carbon dating into question. Lotsa other stuff too......

Ok, I can answer Glass's question and will, since he bothered to be so precise in locating me.

Fact 1. Since it is clear Glass... isn't goose stepping under the direction of the Party, it follows that he isn't one of them.

Fact 2. If you ain't one of them, you is a "liberal".

Limbaugh's Axiom. All "liberals" are fuzzy headed idiots and are out in the woods hugging trees.

Thus, on the basis of Party logic, Glass... is out in the woods doing possibly inappropriate things with a tree (at least according to Party logic).

bdgee, i really get annoyed when people say Rush Limbugger represents the GOP... or cough ann colter(what a nasty human being [Roll Eyes] )

i'm a lifelong republican because it once meant that you believe in fiscal conservation, and i also firmly believe in the individual right to bear arms...

sadly, the new conservative movement doesn't represent me ...
Bush managed to get in office by posing as a moderate unifier...

go back to 2000 campaign stuff...uniter not a divider...cares about kids educatiopn blah blah blah... what a crock o'crap

i figgered he was better than "activist" Gore...
i don't think the federal govt should be so active in our personal lives, they've managed to "encourage" all kinds of behaviour by writing checks ( or is it a credit card?) as incentives to behave in ccertain ways...
they aren't SUPPOSED to be allowed to enforce unfunded mandates...
Bush has turned out to be just as much of an "activist" (if not moreso) than clinton or gore...

faith-based funding is a good example of the kind of BAD "activism" i mean...

it's more than foolish to have churches fighting for grant money, it not Christian at all...

the moral/ethical behaviour of federal contractors is downright appalling, and the lying and chreating i've seen in the academic grant world is astounding...
now the churches will do it too...sad..i think Jesus had a very clear message about keeping this type of thing OUT of the Temple.... [Eek!]

i think religion and politics don't mix... both of them suffer miserably when they do...
Bush used this to buy "fringe" votes...

the ultra-religious conservatives only represent a small, but extremely vocal potion of the party, and if we didn't have 9-11 for bush to jump up and down and cheer about himself on? he would be total failure as a president...(IMO he is anyway, but Roberts may turn out to be a (only?) bright spot on his career)

ANOTHER ACTIVIST THING?? this democratic evangelism... it's really a front for expanding corporate interests..which is fine...i think taking over the world is great, and doing it with money is the only smart way to do it, but once again? i don't see common man type investors getting much benefit out of it, and i do see insiders at the corporations and the street making good bucks...

everyday investors are who pays the taxes...which we need...insiders are usually very good at NOT paying taxes.....
IMO, they are gutting the country...
H Ross Perot said they would..... and the plan is still moving forward....

This never ending dogma spewed forth by both political parties is doing great harm to young Americans..

They are tuning out at levels that may be hazardous to our health.

They're icons are great folks like Pamela Anderson and P Diddy. And thats pathetic,

I've been gone for a while so I read through this thread to see what's up. This star thing gets me though. BTW I really have no idea how I got these stars. I don't deserve them, -----well maybe one for not posting too much.
The thing is those of us who do pay attention know who the helpful and sincere posters are and so the stars don't mean much. I am a devoted conservative but enjoy the opposing view simply because that's what makes out system different than the Tallaban.
For instance I know that Rush and Ann can be real annoying and sometimes over the top, but what about the other side? Who thinks Teddy, Al and Dean aren't annoying?
It's the balance that keeps us safe.
Now would somebody take a couple of these stars and give one to Buy Tex and Glassman an ----- I'm thinkin, I'm thinkin!
