Van der Sloot (the father) told his son, "no body no case". This was a message to the son to keep to his story and say nothing more, and thus obstruct justice.

The police got a confession out of the Florida child rapist-killer (who buried the litle girl alive after raping her) but only after ignoring his request for a lawyer. The police knew if they provided the scum-bag a lawyer that no confession would ever be forthcoming - the defense lawyer serves to obstruct justice when the clint is guilty.

All defense lawyers help their guilty clients to obstruct justice and thereby not get convicted. This is why they are often hated.

Should we put more restraints on defense lawyers?

how about this?
if the defenadant is found guilty? their lawyer has to serve the exact same sentence...that way? lawyers would never represent guilty people [Big Grin]

The thing that baffles me with the Natalee Holloway
case is how they disposed of her body in such a
short amout of time that no one can find her. If a
boat was used someone should have seen them or know
if they had access to one.

they have plenty of experience smuggling and disposing of things down there...

Smugglers paradise.

Somebody is keeping they're mouth shut...

They probably think they have good trade material if they get busted on another crime.

Ocean currents could have carried her out to sharks. As I remember, it took about 10 days after she disappeared for the Arubian police to call in suspects to investigate. In that 10 days she was shark food.

Two thoughts.

1) It is one thing to believe that that girl was a victim and there was a crime. But we don't know!

2) How about every time some DA's or his people are caught concealing, fabricating, or manipulating evidence, etc., that DA must serve the maximum penalty he tried the case for?
